Thread: Help with Netgear wifi Router

Hey guyz am new to MTNL internet was using Reliance before..
I have an MTNL connection the Rs.999 unlimited plan at home through a Sterlite SAM300AX ADSL router. I also have a Netgear WGR614v9 router. Can I share my internet connection wireless/wired through the Netgear router to my 3 PCs,1 laptop and cellphone?

Can anyone help me with the settings? I can post the screen shots of my current settings on MTNL and the pages of the wireless router setup screens.

no1 has ever used net gear wifi router with mtnl triband??????

simply put ;
Enable DHCP in modem ( also UpnP if available )
All systems : Network settings page tcp/ip properties "Obtain Ip address automatically)

use "PPP PPPoE "Always On" mode.
For Sam300AX use only Lan1 and Lan 4
There was a mention Lan 2 and Lan 3 for IpTV etc. ( will confirm later)

I have the same Netgear router WGr614V9.
If the set up worked with Reliance, only change required is chANGE VPI/VCI for MTNL 0 and 32
USUAL MTNL user ID PW to be entered in WAn page of adsl modem.

Also change DNS to google 8.8.8.8 and opendns 208.67.220.220
If you have CD for Netgear Use the IP given in the router label to access settings.

P.s.:- any1 can temme wats the username and password for mtnl unlimited connections? am i right in assuming that username is telephonenumber@a and password is the C.A.number frm the bill..thx..sry m new to mtnl and got my net like 3 days ago..wasnt there when that guy installed the router and did the settings...

If your MTNL connection is working "as it is"
.please try to back up the present settings by going to Tools or Management Menu in modem and save it to C:/My Documents/ MTNL modem working.
Then try changes one by one.

Main points highlighted in my post as well as in the Guide by @Just4Kix.
MTNL USER ID PW if already incorporated in the modem and your internet connection come up immediately, no problem. MTNL have set it for "AlwaysOn" PPPoE connection.

Better take a print out of guide etc , if printer facility available in your system or office.
