Thread: MTNL spead issues

Hey,

Just got a 1mbps 999 unlimited plan but the speeds are only around 300kbps.
The best part is i have 3 landline connections in my 3 rooms in goregoan and in the first room if i connect the modem i get 500kbps and in the second room its around 420kbps. in my room i get 300kbps. but nowhere i am touching 1mb

Is there a way to boost the connection..?
Is it MTNL fault..?
Is my modem faulty..? (Sterlite SAM300 AX - MTNL provided)

The 1504 ppl say its a 1mb plan but not sure why its so slow.

also whenever somebody calls on my landline the the link light starts to blink, its the same when connected through the filter or directly.

Any suggestions........?

I hope you have connected all the lines after the splitter

Sterlite SAM300 AX - is the make and model of the router which MTNL gave

also the filter\splitter is only connected on one line...do i need to connect on all..?

if yes where do i get it from..?

TRY to connect ALL phones to the PHONE PORT of the ADSL splitter.
If not possible get from computer spares shop
. ask for ADSL splitter with three ports.
one one side and another two other side.
Not same like telephone multi junction plugs.

Ok now my all lines have a filter on it. but no difference in the speed.

Called the Prabhadevi server ppl and they told me will increase the speed in an hour and just took my number. I didnt believe her a the time but now my speed from 300 has gone up to 460.

called her again she said the same thing, will increase it in an hour

Are there ppl out there who actually get 1mb or should i stick with my TATA Broadband 384kbps for Rs 1300..?

again me coming back to the same issue...all rooms on filters, but one of the room gives me now 1mb, but the other rooms give me 300 to 400

now i cant change my internal wiring, but any guesses..? anybody..? on how to fix this issue.

I can go wireless, but my desktop will suffer which is online all the time..

As you are mixing up units . please check your speed in different rooms
and give the report here.
For at least the room where you get 1 Mbps

How many Telephones are in use connected to various extensions ?

Oh Never take MTNL's modems...yes if a problem arises they will say its your private modem but it never is.

I like the fact that you can use your own modem. Even if by chance it BLOWS UP! You can replace it asap rather than wait for these guys to show up.

Yea,I also have the same problem and the same sterlite modem
I have a 512kb/s unlimited connection but I hardly get 325kb/s
Technically,it should be 400kb/s

Hey,People problem finally resolved.

I contacted the prabhadevi office at 24363181(11am to 5pm)
and they said the problem will be resolved in 2hrs.
But as always it wasnt resolved and I contacted them again.This time they said that the problem was at the local telephone exchange.

So I contacted DGM(VSV) and a lady picked up the phone and politely said that MTNL was sorry(i missed a heartbeat) and they would resolve the problem in 30 min

And they really did. Heres my result for a 512kb/s connection

sir 3 days ago mtnl workers just connected the modem beetel 410tc1
but it have too slow speed...
and now i have SAM300 AX sterlite modem of my friend ,he gets a decent speed can u plz tell me that how can connect sterlite modem to my pc because i m not able to connect sterlite,, i think special setting are required.i just wanted to check that sterlite modem works,if it did i sure change my modem,plz help me sir

both should be same except for model number .

Compare settings of both , if you can connect to Internet with Beetel 410TCI.
Select VCO 0 or 2 with VPI/VCI 0 and 32 for MTNL.
