Thread: Netgear WGR614v9 issues

Well a few days ago i had a bit of a problem configuring my Sterlite SAM300AX ADSL router with Netgear WGR614v9 wifi router..but i figured that out with help from essbebe and its working...

But now a new strange problem has been occurring, that i hope someone might help me solve..for some reason my Netgear WGR614v9 wifi router settings reset to default factory settings automatically randomly after some time of usage..the time always varies..its very annoying to have to reconfigure my wifi router..

Has anyone else faced a similar problem??? is it the ADSL router resetting my wifi router or has my wifi router has gone barmy??? didnt have such issues with my previous ISP..

Probably some Channel problem. Try channel 6 or 11.
Also which Wireless Network utility you use ?
Net gear WGR511 or
Windows Wireless zero configuration Utility ?
I found a stable connection if Netgear utility is used, but Available Wireless networks cannot be seen.
So switch from one to other.

hmm i will try the channels thingy u said once m back home frm work..but can you tell me where i will find it?:P

and what do u mean by wireless network utility? do u mean the software i use to connect from my laptop or wifi connected desktop? in both cases i use the defalth windows wifi connectivity..

ahh..i havent installed the netgear software..i just use the manuall config page

The previous screen shot is for the WLAN adapter used in my laptop. it may vary depending on model.
This list appears only with windows utility for me .

You are using Windows Zero wireless utility.
( how many networks appear?)
If one network fails, tends to check for other networks as per priority given , and may land up in a secured Wifi network.
To prevent this Only your Laptop MAC
address to be entered in router's page.

Post screenshot of these pages from your wif router.
192.168.x.x/WLG_ADV. htm
both boxes to be checked
192.168.X.X/WLG-wireless.htm
Check key lifetime default , 257 minutes.
