    Default MTNL Modem

Hi guys I have a D-Link Modem : DSL 502- T Version A1 which was provided to me by MTNL. I wonder if there are faster modems out there which are compatible on MTNL. My requirement is that I need a very fast internet connection for my chessclub but i don't download much. Any other simple tricks to increase internet speeds for MTNL ? Please suggest

u can try sterlite modems range provided by them for multi-ports but "d-link" is also good .
according to me "d-link" is the best modem provided by the mtnl followed by sterlite.
the speed of MTNL broadband vary according to ur area
    1. if there is new wiring ,advance hub in ur are then u will receive proper speed and less error.
    2. there are many softwares that can in crease ur speed minor but it depends mainly on ur plan.
    3. make sure there is proper wiring install in ur home with less cuts as possible.
less cuts and damage more speed.
    enjoy

What do you need a faster modem for???

Your speed will not go up if you put in a faster modem for your information. It will remain same.

502-T supports 2 Mbps max DL I think....don't tell me your on the 4 Mbps plan ha!

D-Link is a good modem company...I don't think he should have any problem unless his modem has some hardware fault.

Well as far as I know D-link does not make 502T model anymore not for the past 8 odd months.

They replaced it with 802C ages ago. So all this 502T floating around now are probably used stock or never used ones.
