    Default Speed slows down suddenly

    hey frnds
i have this mtnl UT-300R2U modem
    and my device info is

    <<
Line Rate - Upstream (Kbps): 259
Line Rate - Downstream (Kbps): 2052
    LAN IP Address: 192.168.1.1
    Default Gateway: 120.56.128.1
    Primary DNS Server: 203.94.243.70
    Secondary DNS Server: 202.159.219.229
    >>

I used to get dl speed upto 210 Kbps but since last 15 days the speed falls below 50 Kbps ! but the line rates are same even now ,but overall speed is very low and fluctuating from 30- 55 Kbps now.
Is this some kind of modem problem or what else ?
I dont want to complain to mtnl office because i used to get this high speed on my 512 combo plan !
and since the line rates is still the same i dont thnk they had reduced the speed , there is some other problem .
So plz help me out frnds .
    Thanks in advance.

    .Try opendns 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222
    or Google DNS 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4

Download tcp optimizer from speedguide.net and select optimal values or default values.
    3.
Mention your present tariff plan. for max 512Kbps speed max possible 64KB/sec
    4.
Check speed here at different times/ to have a record (graph.)

    ^^^
    Its kB/s

Can u plz tell that whether this problem can occur due to accidently entry of water in telephone line , like during rainy season recently ?
I am asking this because i recently noticed some water exiting from the line ( since my line is overhead and in open !)

And my plan is 512 combo but i am getting high speed due to mtnl fault (like many used to have) , and i still don't think that mtnl has reduced the speed because the line rate is still the same, that is why i am asking where the problem area is ?
    help me friends !

    current speed:

    Date Download Speed Upload Speed
    Today 16:12 471 kbps (58.9kB/s) 205 kbps (25.6kB/s)

mtnl has changed their systems. The speed now you are getting is according to ur bb plan, even if u may have line is synched at 2054 kbps or higher. Its new regulatory measure taken by mtnl. ****!

Same issues. Also, is there a way to RESET the modem back to the 2240 kbps Line Down rate? Get a new modem or reset settings on this on?

Speeds pathetic, Ping is pathetic. What the hell have they been doing suddenly last few weeks?

    Add to this:
    - Frequent disconnections - like the good ole DIALUP days.. Fme.
    - On watching the modem constantly in a tab as I worked online.. ADSL link down, Authentication failure, all sorts of isses.. Also when Modem shows everything in SUMMARY to be OK.. at that time no pages will open... until I restart the damn thing..
Then it works for a bit .. 5 mins later.. ADSL link down..
