Thread: MTNL BBand down in Mumbai...

Iam from chembur, mumbai and just recently subscribed to the unlimited 999 plan.Well...since last two days my MTNL broadband service was having a serious downtime...it gets disconnected every 10- 15 mins. I tried the helpline no 1504 n number of times but in vain. Later on after calling 1500, had a talk with a lady CSE (who actually could speak in english!) told me that most of the broadband services in mumbai has got affected due to some technical glitches. Thus the 1504 helpline no is totally not reachable. It mite take some time before they continue their services properly... how is the rest of mumbai users finding their bband connection...please reply.

Fortunately enough the service is fine now since yesterday night....getting good speed....hope it prevails!

well i am facing same problem i use to get with a 320kb plan downloads of 36 but now a days 26 in utorrent and another great problem my browisng is good but when i download anything from any site i get speed of 4 kbps dont knw y?

i also live in chembur and have this problem since 3 weeks.after a complaint ,the speed improved but again after a week speed for upload of videos fails frequently.many a times have to reset moderm to continue.Now modem also is failing due to repeted reset. any suggestions- veeraraghavan

Its fruustrraaaatingly slow again...what the hell has happened to MTNL's TIREDband services. Last 3 days have been a real hell for me. Bband speed has screwed up again...Downloads are a mere 5-10 kpbs and torrents on 4-5 kpbs! Managed to get through the 1504 brain-fuk saga...lady executive gave me no. of one Mr. Ansari from mankhurd/govandi tel exchange. Called him up...reply??? "Call up 1504 to complain." When i told him that i already had and they only had given me his no. he said that the slow speed problems of broadband connections are controlled by some tom dick or harry from the prabhadevi exchange. So i have to talk to them about this....when i persisted him more, he asked me email the exchange about my problem and they will rectify it soon. Hoping against all hopes that someone would come to my place by tomorrow. God ....mtnl....have mercy!!!
Its total chaos when you visit mtnl exchange especially the ones at govandi/mankhurd.... I feel unless and until they bloody get privatised totally...all these govt babus will be resting on their a$$e$ and doing nothing for which they are paid handsomely from our tax payers money ...

well the net is up now and working great i would advise u all 2 use idm for downloads it would be faster...
