    Hi,
    I have bought public ip from mtnl.
    So, My question was
    1> How to hide the display of default mtnl router setting when run the live ip. ie
    //59.*.*.* and show my required html page or directory

    2> How to do port forwarding on this router.
    3> How to add security to my pc since, its access by whole world

    1. Configure your modem in PPPoE

    2. Use a good firewall like Zone alarm or Comodo.

    These will ensure your anonymity on net. You can also use ultrasurf or hotspot shield. But points 1 and 2 will do it without any problem.

    Hi,
    i am able to do port forwarding . but when i try to access my from outside my network. with my live ip. i get default page of the mtnl which we normally get when we ping
    http //192.168.1.1
    So, how to hide it some one old me that the setting has to be done on ACL section of the mtnl.
    Please guide me, My exams are near and i want to display my website hosted to the college. I want to host this website and later remotely access it so as to complete my "server maintenance on Linux" project.

    Your reply is my 2nd step when i would be able to access my website from other n/w and not now

    I have bought public ip from mtnl.
    Presume it is a DynamicIP.
    Changes every time you reconnect to Internet.
    Confirm: you are using DDNS option in the modem.
    2
    In your modem page, you will find an option to configure "Virtual Server".

    Hi,
    Thx for ur post.
    I use my local ip for port forwarding ie. 192.168. .
    I was able to access my localhost on my browser with 192.168. but how to do same for my live ip.
    I was unable to access it 59.#.#.# .
    So, how to do routing for it too.
    please guide and do i have to do a loopback for it.
