    Default 2MBPS on 512kbps plan

    Hello everyone,

I have been browsing these forums for quite some time although this is my first post here. I have a MTNL broadband connection and a HG520 Trendchip wireless dsl modem. My plan is for 512kbps but since the start, I've been getting speeds of 2mbps. Recently, my modem went kaput and MTNL issued a new modem. Since then the speed has dropped down to 1mbps. The downspeed still shown 2048 but on the speedtest and with torrents, I am not getting anything over 1mbps. Any idea why it is so and if there is anything I can do which would bring the speed back up to 2MBPS. Below is the modem data at present:

    Downstream Upstream

    SNR Margin 15.8 35.7 db

    Line Attenuation 30.0 13.3 db

    Data Rate 2053 509 kbps

    Thanks for all your help.

Same kinda problem here. I have been synced to a 2048 Kbps down line. I get 700 Kbps only. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
