(a)Do you have the Installation cd for this model ?
    (b) Mention the details of the "crap' modem MTNL supplied to you.
VPI/VCI for MTNL 0 and 32. Did not work earlier ?
(c)Rest settings may be done automatically by Linksy's Wizard ?.
    (d) try LAN mode initially.
    (e)
for dynamic and static ip please !!!

Yes, but the Auto setup selected a static IP of 191.168.0.1, which jammed up the router and would not access the internet, so i reset it and manually added the settings

MTNL modem+router - DNA-A212, damn thing keeps dropping the connection and wireless coverage is quite bad and unstable (fluctuates)
    VPI/VCI is set to 0 and 32
(c)Rest settings may be done automatically by Linksy's Wizard ?.
    (d) try LAN mode initially.

Ditto but Windows 7 refuses to recognize the Network
After i entered the following settings it worked for a while but kept switching

    192.168.1.5
    255.255.255.0
    192.168.1.1

    DNS

    203.94.227.70
    203.94.243.70

    Current situation

Modem is connected to the internet after

    (on modem login page)

    IP - Let ISP decide
    DNS - 203.94.227.70 / 203.94.243.70

    VPI/VCI is set to 0 and 32

Now the DSL light is stable but the Internet led keeps flickering and wont load some site which load just fine on the DNA router

I'm not used to settings like these, I used to live in the UK and modem+routers are DHCP

I've never had to input IP and DNS settings manually, auto config picks them us just fine and every new computer just needed the WEP or WPA key etc

I got the Netgear cause i have a Dell XPS 1530 which is Wireless N capable and functions on dual 2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz bands, although the Netgear is a single band it pushes throughput till 150 Mbps (theoretical)

If required i can upload screenshots of the Netgear and DNA modem+router setup pages

    Thanks

Actually the internet does not work in LAN mode, only works in WiFi mode, odd

Modulation is in in GDMT mode

    Have attached the stats page

will also attach the Netgear screenshots in a while

The DNA m+r works quite well when it works but the connection is very very unstable, keeps dropping all the time

I pretty much had the same idea , use the Netgear as the primary m+r and the DNA as a standby

Opposite - wifi works , lan does not

Although even on the netgear the connection seems to be dropping, a bit better once i switched over to GDMOT mode, but speeds seem to have taken a hit

    Netgear N150 DGN 1000
Since you get this unit working in WIFI mode,
    Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

    Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Marvell Yukon 88E8040 PCI-E Fast Ethernet
    Controller
Click the lan Icon and try REPAIR/status/support options
Check in LAN network settings whether the card is enabled.

    TRY tcp/ip optimizer from speedguide.net.
Check speed before and after tweaks.
My Broadband Speed - Broadband Speed Tester ( U.K server)
In LAN mode speed data transfer 100Mbps and in WIFI 54 Mbps
( usually should not make much difference. )

    hi dennisraul,

Even i have bought N150 router and i am not able to connect to the internet though the router is getting the ip address from ISP, but there is no internet connectivity.

Not able to ping even the DNS server from my PC. I have done all the setting that you mentioned. What i noticed is the router status page is showing as connection active, but the number of received packet remains contant.

Is there any thing etc you did apart from what you have mentioned. I am not able to get netconnectivity over wifi. Have you configured anything related to firewall.

    On PC
    IP -> 192.168.1.5
    255.255.255.0
    192.168.1.1
    DNS
    203.94.227.70
    203.94.243.70

    IP - Let ISP decide
    DNS - 203.94.227.70 / 203.94.243.70
    VPI/VCI is set to 0 and 32

    Mode is GDMT.

    * UPDATE ************************************************
    hi
i managed to get my N150 router working, the ADSL setting -> Multiplexing method was to be choosen as LLC based.

After changing this i managed to run network using LAN as well as through Wifi. Also router is working as DHCP server
