Rep Power: 0 | My friends, the site that you ppl are referring to, is actually your router's configuration panel. When you enter http://192.168.1.1 in your browser window you'r actually logging in to your router's firmware for accessing its settings. I'm also using UT300R2U, and Siddy's reffered site does show an option to configure this router. Just use your browser's find utility to search for this router on first page and then try to access your preferred P2P client's settings. If you can't find it, then do this: 1. Use your browser to visit http://192.168.1.1 and enter 'admin' as user id and 'admin' as password (without quotes). 2. Click on the 'Advanced' button at the top bar and then 'Vertual Server' button on the left. 3. If you do not find any entry in the 'Virtual Server List' section or you cannot find any such list then only use the text fields to enter your IP details. B'cos in many cases your P2P client will automatically set the port forwarding if you run it's network settings wizard. In my case, uTorrent set all these stuff for me. This screen will list all such ports in 'Virtual Server List' section if it has been done laready for you, and If is has not, then follow these instructions: - Enter your static IP address in the 'Private IP' field. - Leave the protocol field set to 'ANY' - Open your P2P clients freferences box and find out the port that it is using and enter the same port number in 'Local Port' field - Enter the same port number in the first box of 'Destination Port From' field and leave the scond one blank - Select Single Port from the list box next to the second text field which you left blank Your are done! Enjoy! |

Rep Power: 0 | Did you try finding 'Virtual Server' option? What are other options in the top left drop down list where it shows 'Auto'? |

Rep Power: 0 | I have a 256 Kbps connection with TriB 590NU plan. Sometimes my bittorent download speed reaches around 200 KBps. Yes you heared it right, it is kiloBytes :-) Did you know that when working on WinXP SP2, your machine cannot make more than 10 parallel TCP/IP connection per sec? Microsoft had applied this limit to ensure minimum damage caused by any virus. You need to patch TCPIP.SYS file located in your system32 folder to push this limit to some greater number so that you can achieve the best results. Read this and enjoy: SpeedGuide.net :: Windows XP SP2 |
