    Unhappy Downloads Get Stuck Midway

    Hi Guys,

First off, I am a new member to this website but have already become a fan. I think, this is one of its kind for Indian users - targeting solutions for Indian Broadband users. Thank you to the founder and all the administrators and the senior members of this forum.

Now, back to my issue: I am using MTNL Delhi connection with 512kbps unlimited data pack. I am new to MTNL. The issue I am facing are to to with heavy downloads. Whenever I try to download movies online from direct links (not using torrents or other P2P clients), my downloads get stuck in the middle. There is no specific percentage the downloads get stuck (sometimes 10%, 50%, 99% - which is most irritating). I do not think it is a problem with my pack that I have with MTNL since it is a unlimited plan. Following are the things I have tried already:

    1) Downloading from various links like Stagevu.com, Movreel.com etc.
    2) Used Internet Explorer and Google Chrome both.

Some useful information that might help solve the puzzle:

    1) I am using a wireless modem (do not know the make and model)
    2) There are two users in the house that login simultaneously
    3) The website browsing works fine
    4) There is no problem with the speed - I get download speeds in 50s (KBPS)
    5) I am not getting this issue on my other laptop (probably because it is hardwired instead of using wireless)
    6) I have Symantec Endpoint Protection as my anti-virus
    7) MTNL customer service is useless

Any rescuers will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    Welcome to IBF.

What error do you get while download stops ?

Had you ever got Error 101 " Connection reset " message in Chrome ?

    Try ipconfig/flushdns and check.

Use a good download manager like IDM and check.

Please post your SNR and Attenuation values.

    Thank you very much Dilip!

I actually do not get any error message. It gets stuck at a certain percentage and thats it. There is no error message. I have not tried ipconfig/flushdns. I will try and post results.

    Thanks again!

    No problem.

Try to use Internet Download Manager (IDM) and check.
