Hii friends

I am using siemens Nokia SL2-141 WiFI Modem for my broadband

I forget the username and password for the modem

Is there any chance to reset it?

If you had forgotten the UserID and PW to access modem settings
try
ID user PW password
ID support PW password.
Else use .RESET
factory Default ID admin PW admin
Why you want to access the menu settings now ?
You should be confident of restoring internet connection by
entering fresh data

I wanted to see the SNR Margin (due to frequent disconnections)

Done, but nothing improved it seems

uncheck box adsl2 . check whether GDMT is selected.
a 5 dB reduction inAattenuation is a great improvement.
.After testing in GDMT mode ( post result)
try
tcp/ip optimiser from speedguide.net.
keep the slider for the max speed of your connection.

GDMT already selected

speedguide.net corrects 3 issues only since it is a free version

observe for a day for any improvement/s.

You can enter both in modem and network settings in computer
googledns 8.8.8.8 and opendns 208.67.220.220.

How to do this?

Go to Management:
Backup present settings to file/ say
C:/My Documents/Sl2141 on gdmt .

2.In Advanced options
Select DNS.
Uncheck box .Enter dns values SAVE REBOOT.
any improvement?

every member/user/seeing this thread loses data d/l
and scroll the page , seeing same data again.

If you are on dialer mode , ( userId/PW entered in computer window and "bridged" selected in WAn settings page)
Uncheck "bridged" and select PPP/PPPoE and enter your ID/PW in modem's wan page.
deleted my insert even though only 10 KB.

Even these will give some improvement. Select Optimal values.
Keep slider at the max speed of your tariff plan.

i am using siemens sl2 141 modem to connect to the internet. the bsnl guy has done the settings and in that the computer first connects to the modem and then by again putting a user name and password one connects to the internet (i use the wifi mode) whereas i used to connect to the internet in the wireless mode by connecting to the modem directly and there was no need of using the user name and password thing. can somebody pl help. if modem setting have to be changed pl guide how to open the modem setting too. thanks in adv.

BRIEFLY:
enter 192.168.1.1 userid admin PW admin
Advanced options
WAN Edit
Select PPPoE box Instead of "Bridging"
next
enter VPI VCI 0 and 35 ( for BSNL ) 0 and 32 for MTNL
next
enter userid pW etc
apply Save wait for 2 minutes.
Refer screen shots if any error above.
