Thumbs up Query on DNA-A212 - Port Forwarding

    Dear All,

Thanks to many forum members for enlighting my knowledge on networking skills.

With the help of this forum I was able to dig more into port-forwarding stuff obviously for my beloved uTorrent .

As mentioned above I am having DNA-A212 modem wifi modem provided by mtnl & have gone upto switching into brodge mode & have stuck there.

I also learned that NAT can also help me fwd utorrent ports.. ?? !!

What to enter in those external port start-end & other boxes ??

Can any1 tell how to go fwd. from there ??

Can you please post the screen shot of the page where you are allowed to select between PPPoE and Bridge. Or if possible, post all page which you get clicking " Next " on 0_32 entry.

To get the port forwarding guide, try portforward.com

Chennai Telephones- Changing password in DataOne Pre-configured modem connect
    similar modem/menu pages. MTNL VPI/VCI 0 and 32.
You have to connect in PPPoE mode ( store userid/PW in wan page of modem )
"In "Bridged" mode all ports are open.
Check in Portforward.com Siemens sl2 141.and wifi mode.
    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...reference.html (Sl2-141 portforwarding quick reference.)

confirm you can use the unit in lan mode/wifi mode.

Unable to follow your comments via PM, hence posting here.

Mention the plan you are currently using. What is the promised speed of that plan ?
    To do:

    1. Install a good download manager. If you are using one, post the name of your download manager.

Suggestion : Use IDM, DAP or FDM

    2. Download any file from Microsoft, post the screen shot of the speed shown in your download manager.

    3. Go to speedtest.net, perform a speed test and post the screen shot here.

    4. Do you use torrents ? If yes, what is the maximum speed you are gettiing ?

Request : Please state the problem you are facing now. You wanted to change to Bridge mode and you managed to do it successfully.

I have subscribed to DSL_Unlimited_999 plan of 1Mbps

1 - i use FDM to download all files via http . There MAX i get is 36-39.9kbps

2 & 3 - Forum is nt allowing me to post any kind of link to the speedtest image

    Speedtest Results -

    Download - 0.33 MB/s
    Upload - 0.21MB/s
    Ping - 73ms
    Grade - D-

    4 - I use UTorrent for torrents & there I get 25-38kbps even on seeds(8500+)

    1. Mention the plan you are currently using. What is the promised speed of that plan ?

    2. Post the screen shots as hxxp://domain.com instead of http://domain.com. I will check in my browser.

The reason why I ask screen shot is that you seem to be confused between KBps and Kbps.

    256 Kbps = 32 KBps. Or 1 KB = 8 Kb, where B = Bytes, b = bits

    3. Post the screen shot of your utorrent window. You can blacken the files you are downloading if you wish. But make no changes to other details. Would like have the full window.

    4. Any difference in speed after switching to Bridge mode ?
