    Unhappy Frequent Disconnections after Afternoon

    hi,

For past 1 month , i am facing the problem of frequent disconnection on my MTNL Triband 749 Unlimited plan.

I am using a ADSL Netgear wireless router. The Net connection and speed are fine in the morning i.e. 6 AM - 12-12:30 pm . After these times i dont know what happens there are frequent disconnections and the download speed also goes low.

I have complained many times , once they came and saw the line etc, but they gave a excuse that it is because of the Wireless router and try the direct line router etc. Strange since it works fine in the mronings and later these hapens so i doubt it has anything to do with my router.

I have been using these plan for past 1year , at those times i did not face any such issue.

Is anyone else also facing such issues and got any solutions for it. Please let me know.

    1. Post your SNR and Attenuation Ratio

    2.Check with another router.

I am facing some server congestion problems too. Usually during 4-8pm. Its maybe because of traffic shapers.

    Hi,
I am on the 1599 Unlimited plan ever since it was introduced and have my MTNL connection shared in my house using a linksys wrh54g router.
All was well in terms of service until about 2 months before when suddenly the modem started freezing multiple times in a day.
By freezing, I mean that the Status light on the modem which is supposed to be blinking continuously either stays 'ON' all the time of goes 'OFF'. This happens atleast 5 - 10 times in a day and sometimes more. All I can do is turn off the modem and turn it back on, and then it continues working properly for some time.

Given that my ADSL modem is about 3 - 4 years old and has been continuously kept on since the Unlimited plan, is this issue related to the MTNL line or the ADSL Modem?
Another point which makes me think that this could be the Modem is that when it stops working, not only does that Internet stop responding, but even the Modems admin interface will not respond.

Any ideas or remedies to this problem other than calling up the MTNL guys for Line check or Modem Replacement?

    1. What do you mean by status light? (Internet light???)

    2. Check cable & splitter

    3. Use a friend's modem and check.

    1. Type 192.168.1.1 in your browser

    2. Enter ID and password as admin.

    3. Normally you will find the values in the landing page. If not browse through the pages. It will be mostly under " stats " page.

Get your line checked. Ask the line man to give a clean line without joints and non insulated parts. Check this diagram
