Thread: connect two PCs with one Broadband connection

hi
i wanted to connect two PCs with one broadband connection(wired) so that both will be able to access internet.
and what do i have to do if i wanted to create a LAN for just both of them with internet working.??

Please mention, modem - model and make. Does it have WiFi ?

By two machines, you mean 2 desktops ?

To share the connection with more than one machine independently, you need a modem + router with more than one LAN port or one LAN port and WiFi.

1. Configure your modem in PPPoE mode,

2. Enable DHCP in the modem,

3. In the TCP/IP properties of your connection (for both machines), set " Obtain IP address automatically ".

Now you can use two LAN ports in modem or WiFi (if available) to connect to your machines.
