Red face Lan connections not working.

well, there was rain nd m nt sure if water went inside the modem.
When i came back i saw only power signalling light glowing. i switched it off and then switched on but again the power light was on. I again switched it off and pressed the reset button. I switched it on and then i see all the lights glowing but only LAN connection not glowing even my computer didnt show the net connection. But in the modem the power, active, system and link lights working. only the lan connection light not glowing. Dont know what happened. it seems a little bit water went inside but it dried up.
    HG510 is the modem number.
Please suggest me what to do.

I think I have some kind of a similar problem. When I had called them, they said the LAN light must stay stable but mine flickers. I am facing major conection problems since this month started. I am not even able to access settings. When I type the address and id password, it shows the following.

    The modem's details are these
    Product name - ADSL2+ Modem
    Model name - SAM300 AX

I am using the exact default access settings stated below the modem. If I have to press the small button behind the modem to reset it to factory settings, I have already done it 2-3 times. It is still the same. I have even already tried everything of the thread you referred. Is there anything else that could help?

If possible get a friend's modem at your place and check. By this way you can confirm whether it is a modem fault or not.

If the above not possible, take the modem to the MTNL office and ask them to check there.

@meetdilip Unfortunately I have no friends living near me who have mtnl. Others say their connection is alright. I will register complaints and wait for a few more days. If nothing changes, I will take it to their office. Btw is their office the same where we pay the telephone bill?

@essbebe Yes my modem's model number is SAM300 AX but I am not able to access the settings page. Even the phone helpline person didnt know what was wrong. She said she was passing on a complaint from her side to the mtnl server but I didnt get any response later from them.

I think because I download a lot, mtnl has put restrictions on my connection by reprogramming my modem. Should I try using some modem hacking tools? What do you say?

Yes. I was on LAN4 before and now I am on LAN1. I changed the network settings as said but no change in the connection. I even restarted and reset the modem after changing network settings. And I tried to login to settings after changing but couldn't so I changed back. Any other things I can try?

If you are getting connected to Internet and can surf
What Is My IP Address? Lookup IP, Hide IP, Change IP, Trace IP and more...
    Say 59.xx.xx.xx
    Retype in browser adddress bar.

A window may appear to access modem menu pages.
If no success, You have to RESET to factory settings and try.

    see link 192.168.1.1 below.

    In computer
    START RUN
    type cmd
    OK
    New window
    type ping 192.168.1.1
    result ??

I had already tried support and password. The others don't work either. I noticed a thing just now. No matter if I type a different id and password each time, I only get three tries after which the same page shows up.
I think Ccleaner won't make any difference. I have a similar software except registry cleaner in it. It is some bad connection problem.
I think I will have to exchange the modem now.

Since you and can get connected to Internet and surf. Be online.
Check your IP and PM to me ( if you wish ), so that I can try to access the modem settings. Your system ( harddisk ) cannot be accessed.
    My OS Windows 7 Professional.

Should I try to upgrade the firmware on my own? Will I be able to connect to the internet as soon as I do it or will I have to change any settings? What are they?

hmm I'm sorry but I cannot tell you my ip because for you to access it, I will have to accept portscan attempts which is a threat. Though I have a dynamic ip but still.

    Changed to Dialer mode :
    117.193.59.74 available now

seems default ID is admin No change possible.
Got a user with same modem STERLITE at another IP 2813xxxx@a

    Yours not opening.
Being Sunday, if you RESET the modem may not be possible to reconnect.

    From help page :
    Maintenance

    Administration
There is only one account that can access Web-Management interface. The default account is "admin", and the password is "1234". Admin has read/write access privilege. In this web page, you can set new password for admin.

    For testing:
Please change over to 1483 Bridging mode and test Lan 1
    In "Dialer" mode.
    then Lan 2. same computer.
MTNL has suggested Dialer Mode to connect to SAME SINGLE LAN port in another router (WA3002_g1)
    0 32 for Internet say VPI0 and VPI2 0 33 for IPTV
we cannot use two different VPI's for same 0 32.
