    Wink Answers to ur Q's

Congrats on ur MTNL 59NU...it is a great plan! I use it all the time for downloading big torrents.
    regarding ur questions...

    1. I want to know during installation what do they install a router modem do they charge extra for a wireless router
    A. Yes they install a router mostly the DLINK 502T. Yes they do charge more for a Wireless Router. I dont know how much though ask them.

    2. Should I buy a modem or a router wireless router instead of getting the modem/router given by mtnl ?
    A. No, let them get it, U'll ofcourse be paying a monthly charge of Rs.80 rental for it. Otherwise It will cost rs.1650 for a standard router. Watch out though u cant install any router...there is a list of specific recommended routers on the MTNL page, u'll have to look.

    3. What is better a modem or router or wireless router ? And I have a onboard lan card and Dlink modem.
    A. That depends on ur need. I just need the standard Router, I have no WIFI device like a laptop. The router will most probably attached to the On board Lan or can connect thru USB too. Ur DLink modem must be a DialUp modem, keep it away and use incase of emergency!

    4. Whats the thing about upgrading to 2mbps connection??
    A. No Idea, some rumor I guess. Some guys say that MTNL is going to upgrade 256kbps speeds to that....I highly doubt it. anyway u dont need such a fast net speed. The 256kbps is good enough.

    5. Do they cap speeds after certain amount of downloads in Gbs ??
    A. Not at all. 59NU is unlimited from 12 to 8am.

6.Is there anything like lan cause people share and connect using DC++ or message using IP messenger ??
    A. Nope. this is not ur normal cablewalla's intranet where any1 can connect to eachother without the net.

    7. Can I connect Other laptops to the same connection.
    A. What do u mean can u connect to other laptops? certainly not with the default MTNL connect. U need a separate WIFI or lan to connect to other computers which I do at home since I have 2 PC's. U will need to re-configure MTNL connect a bit. The info is there on this forum somewhere. Search for making a dialer for MTNL connection.
