    Exclamation Downstream & Upstream !

    Hello All

This is my first post regarding broadband speed issue. before i start my question, I'm posting some info of Modem, my BB plan etc. etc.

    1) my BB plan is "TriB combo UL data-599".

(But in response to this, i would like to say that i got the 2 mb/s speed. now i don't know what the hell is going on.)

    2) Modem model no. :- MTNL provided T-KD 318-MI with 4 parallel (//) output LAN ports. (used this over 4 years with no problems)

    3) Now I'm posting some screenshots please see this because rite now I can't upload the images due to reason of "You are only allowed to post URLs to other sites after you have made 15 posts or more."

So you are all requested to see the screenshots and reply my question if possible.

1.A) my downstream is still good approx. 2 mb/s (In best of my knowledge) correct me if I'm wrong. In which it should be 200kbps+ speed whenever downloading any contents.

1.B) I enjoyed this speed i.e. 2mb/s speed over 3 years. but now i'm getting correct speed but make me a pissed off. but between 6 month over ago i got again same speed for a 2-3 days than it switched over to original
but one day i saw downstream and upstream rate and still it is a same stream rate as before 3 years.

1.C) And last I want to know some brief info of

    A) SNR Margin

    B) Line Attenuation

    C) Latency

if any more information required may kindly notice me out.

any help will be very appreciated.

    EDIT:- I'm from Delhi.

    Thanks

    Regards

SORRY. I gave the link incorrectly.
    IT is http://speed.io
All speed tests depend on the server/location/time/web conditions etc.
    Can vary widely also.
    wait...
    please see this link also:
http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...tml#post337958 (Broadband doesn't work with splitter)

    2.
Change Mod mode to GDMT and recheck SNR",
In your modem this option may be available. Check.

    3. The speed results earlier ( with Airtel site ) show only 50%
    call MTNL CC.

Default TriB combo UL data-599 modem T-KD 318-M speed

As I mentioned earlier, Only download from MS can be taken as accurate, or
a direct download of an application via browser.
Your speed at peak time seems Ok.
( if promised speed is upto 2 Mbps)

Appears great improvement in SNR d/l. 27.0db now from 20.5db
ATTn 40db d/l not good. just 1.5 db change.

I think you can use the wires in a rj45 cable ( 4 pairs), which are meant for data signal to replace present Rj11 cable. to modem.
Get it crimped at local electrical shop.
one pair superior quality ( multistrand?) cable of length say 5 or 6 feet can be crimped with rj11 connectors and tried. cost approx Rs 10/=to 15/=

Thanks for the reply & i read this link also so that i compared the value with my existing value like SNR, Line Atten., and so on....!

    h**p://indiabroadband.net/broadband-how/36672-frequent-disconnection-steps-troubleshoot.html

than i can get back high speed when line atten. will improve.

    once again thanks.

    regards
