Thread: Gmail Account Hacked

Last night I received a mail and in that mail someone from my class used another guys name and spammed me with writing all dirty things. He used I Pills website to send me a mail so that his identity couldn't be revealed.
In the morning i complained to the principle of my college about it and he warned everyone about such pranks.

In the meantime by afternoon when i got back home to my shock the mail which he/she sent me last night was deleted from my inbox as well as from my sent messages (I sent it to a friend just in case). I checked the trash option but that was clean.

Then i took a screenshot of the details of the last login and I could see that some MTNL user had hacked into my account. (I use Hathway).

IS THERE ANY POSSIBILITY TO FIND OUT WHO THIS PERSON IS? I HAVE THE I.P. ADDRESS.

Even now you cannot prevent someone sending you offensive mail/message as your gmail address is known.

his ISP at that point of time. You confirm the ISP. (MTNL ?) and it does not necessarily mean the EXACT location of the user.

You cannot get his/her house address/ street/town State and phone number etc.

You have to extract the Message Header and forward to the ISP for investigation.
I understand GOOGLE will not respond without court orders.
Watch for two or three days, and give feedback.

The best thing as of now which i believe is to approach MTNL with those IP addresses and also inform the cyber crime authorities just in case if they can help me out.

MTNL won't disclose the address unless there is a legal demand for it. You can use cyber crime cell for this issue if you wish to. But better inform your Principal or parents about it and do as they suggest.

Also, the thing you need to worry about is how he got your password. You can use methods like two point login feature in Gmail. In case your account is accessed from outside, it will send you an SMS and a code only using which you can access from other device.

exactly my next point is that i have no idea how did the person hacked into my account and now that i have changed my password what guarantee is that he will not hack again. I am usually logged into my account frm Blackberry. I hardly use Laptop. Where can i find this two point login option?

@essbebe :: There is no chance to extract message header as he/she hacked into my account and deleted the mail today in the afternoon.

I think G mail TRASH folder will have all deleted messages.
(1) Someone /anyone sending you offensive mail.cannot be avoided.
(2) Used Ipills web site to send the mail. This is not clear. ( also MTNL user) May be from a Cybher cafe also.
(3) Can access your Gmail account and folders.
(4) If the "suspect" is in your contacts list or chat mode delete/block/deny contact.
(5) check the language style used. SMS type Hinglish etc.
(6) Appears to be " sexual harassment' and can lead to grave consequence to the Offender if reported. including expulsion from school/college) Be sure.100% ( with proof )before accusing any one.

If you go to the ipillcipla(dot)com, you will see a option which says mail this link to. And from there you can enter sender's name and id and the receiver's name and id and the message you want to give. You may/may not find this message so offensive but a stranger sending such a msg to a girl is disturbing. Hope u understand!

and one more thing i forgot to mention is that the message has been deleted from gmail's inbox but i can still see the message in my blackberry as it stores in it but there is no option in blackberry to extract the message header.

deleted from TRASH too. I dont think that he/she was in a cyber cafe as i got the mail around 12.30 at night.

email address of the sender. or contents of the message.
Your hacker can use any mailID not necessarily belonging to him/her..

Ask your parents to Contact the company at 022-3200 0055, and report about the vulgar message you received. They have the sender's ID real or bogus!!! and also responsible for the message.
Astonished ,such a top Medical company never considered misuse of their web site.. Even in blog site/s technical or otherwise replies messages go for moderation.
Matter has to be taken up with TRAI or Advertisers Ethics Organisation.to stop this surrogate advertising.

Send email to admin of the company and ask for an explanation.

You can send a lawyer's notice to the firm. and ask for
punitive damages mental harassment

Even your OWN email address can be used to send vulgar messages via the company's web site!!!!

I was planning to do the same. I called up on that no. in the afternoon. The female gave me a broadline no. for such complaints. But nobody was answering there. I will call them tomorrow again and also mark a mail to the head.

the best way to check if someone is accessing your gmail account or not is to simply check your activity log and it will show you the recent logins along with the city name and IP address

scroll down to the end of the page of your gmail account and there must be a link saying last account activity just check there

What is the status ?

The Cyber Crime ppl got him(my classmate) tracked down a week ago.. Now the case in the hand of police and the director of my college.

So you found out how he got your password / hacked in ?

not yet...they(he nd his father) hav been called at the police station tomoro.. so will get all the details in a day or so..

Do update how he did this.

Hope he doesnt get away by any unethical means.. hope u understand wot i mean here.. but still i am happy to knw who was behind it,..

best way to coup with email hack is to host your own email service... its free..
