Unhappy Configuring UTSTARCOM WA3002G4 WiFi Modem

    Hello all,

I had a broadband connection of BSNL so got this UTSTARCOM WA3002G4 modem. Now I have switched to MTNL simple broadband & got STERLITE SAM300X modem. I checked the settings & tried to configure it but failed.
I went through other posts in this forum but in vain.

Kindly help me to configure it. It is very urgent.

When I checked the diagnostics, it showed that
    Connection to ISP: PASS
    PPP Connection: FAIL

I know that PPP connection is authenticated on the username & password details but I cross checked them also. I was not able to configure the modem.

    Please help!

    Hello essbebe,

I want to configure UTSTARCOM WA3002G4.
SAM300X is what I'm using right now with MTNL broadband and it is working fine. I took the settings from SAAM300X & tried configuring WA3002G4 but it failed.

I have tried using the method given in these links but as I told you that it is not configuring properly...
It is getting connected to ISP but PPP connection is getting failed as I could see in the diagnostics.

Trying wireless mode or LAN mode ?
DNS entries of bsnl or auto select ?enter 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

In.MP web site there is Flash interactive file . download and check.

Ok. Just wait for some time...
Let me re-connect wa3002g4 & get snaps for you...

In the mean time, what about empty line rates for upstream & downstream?

I tried it but due to IP conflict, internet connection got disrupted on PC. Though mobile got connected to WA3002G4 but not to internet...

Only POWER, LAN & WLAN are turned on. DSL blinks once or twice during reboot.

Find attached the image of log generated after diagnostic.

Your ADSL Rj11 input line faulty most probably.

Try Para two setup. ( No changes except Select "MER" in wa 3002_g4)
for wifi . or in lan mode.
    Para two;
Connect Sam300AX. Connect from LAN1 to Lan 1 of wa 3002_g4
    Check Laptop In wifi mode.~~~
    or
    LAN2 rjj45 to desktop/laptop ethernet port.

I'm using same wire for SAM300X and it is working fine.
Let me try changing the mode of that WA3002G4 to MER to be serially connected to SAM300X. And will share results afterwards.
If it gets successful, I'll try with another cable later...

    I connected SAM300X. Connected LAN1 - LAN1 of both the modems. Then LAN4 of SAM300X to PC.
PC got connected but phone is not able to search the network. Saying UTStarcom(SSID for WiFi) not in range...

Earlier(before MER mode), it was able to detect the modem.

Confirm the ssid as entered in wa3002_g4 appears in Phone ?
"MER" or " bridged" is almost same. ( I have used "STATICIP")
If previous set up PPPoE worked revert and confirm.
