Want to switch from airtel broadband to mtnl,questions!

hi,due to being fup'd by airtel(wired) numerous times now i've decided to switch to mtnl triband wifi 2mbps@1899,i have a few questions:

1.do i need to disconnect my airtel broadband before applying for mtnl broadband as i need only 1 connection?
2.does the mtnl 2mbps@1899 have fair usage policy?
3.are there any cases of frequent disconnections or low speed for mtnl in south delhi?
4.will mtnl charge extra to password protect my wifi router?
5.will mtnl provide the router or do i need to buy it separately?
6.does mtnl router auto disconnect for torrent downloads?

1. yes ofcourse.. you have to disconnect and do all formalities with airtel..Airtel MTNL different companies.
2. no idea.
3. disconnections yes. but not very frequently..
4. no i guess.
5. you can chose both options, but having a bundled offer with them is better. check mtnl site for details...
6. not got your question when you mean disconnections.. do you mean frequent discs?? than i say no.. well i tried torrents on mtnl very less. and that too at my uncle's..

regarding my first question i meant can i get an mtnl connection before getting the airtel one disconitinued,i need one but frm what i've heard discontinuing an airtel connection take a lot of days and i simply don't have the patience to not have internet for that long

You can get another Broadband connection, retaining AIrtel
and change settings in modem to access either ISP. MTNL VPi/VCI 0 and 32)
Only you have to change the Rj11 cable from ISP to ADSl splitter.
Even if you disconnect Airtel entries/settings can remain.

Send disconnection Notice by email, After settling current dues, and returning Telephone/modem ( if not outright purchase or own)etc at nearest Airtel center.
Get a receipt. quote in your email
May take three days to disconnect.
