Thread: MTNL cheating....

i read this on some forum....the new 749NU mtnl plan is supposed to provide with 2mbps speed..however MTNL is implementing some kinda block on port 80 (http port). If you are getting nice speeds on the MTNL speed test, then this is confirmed. You will also get cool speeds on torrents, but not on http downloads.

So if you are d\l thru http u will only get around 50KBPS i.e 400Kbps...pretty sad....

do you think it is really cheating?
because they're offering unlimited access, for some reason they might have to block either port80 or p2p port...
you know why? because they can't handle the bandwith...
with this plan, everyone download like crazy as usage per month is usually more than 20 Gb..
so they have to restrict one of them...

it doesnt happen in any country except India....and ofcourse it cheating..they dont mention all this on there tarrif chart and also wont tell you when you have to get a connection.....after when you face all these probs you get to know about them...

it really does happen in Malaysia back few months when the biggest national provider, streamyx restricted the p2p speed because of that same problem above...
to bypass the restriction, people start using vpn or thunder downloader that can bypass streamyx and port 80 to download torrents..

I think you should ask about this problme from MTNL and they would explain it to you and as of the torrents if you are getting good speeds on torrents then i think it would be nice that you go with torrents.

as i said my mtnl is working fine....i read this on some other forum so the person who posted this might have been suffering.....my mtnl works like a charm....
