Default Is MTNL wired or wireless connection better?

I have narrowed down to getting a MTNL broadband connection, and what I can not decide upon is whether I should get a wired or wireless connection. Would me deciding on the type of connection have any difference to the location I live in? How can I decide which connection would be the best?

My main concern is the connection being reliable. Cost is not much of an issue, It is after considering the costs that I narrowed down to MTNL.

I think you should go for the wireless connection, as it would be easier for you later on when you would want to use a WiFi connection. The MTNL WiFi connection is reliable as the MTNL wired connection.

    Shanky ji,

I am not sure what you mean by wireless connection from MTNL. If you mean a wifi router to make your adsl connection wireless then it is your own personal choice as the performance would be the same on a wired and wireless connection. Location has nothing to do with it. If you are talking about a 3G wireless connection then yes location would make a difference as signal strength would vary depending upon where you are so you might want to check signals where you want to use your connection if you want 3G.

Yes I was talking about the 3G connection. I still haven't got the connection as I have been using my cousins Tata dongle connection for a couple of months, so will get a new connection in a months time. Thank you for the reply's.

Airtel 3G is the best and reliable. I am using it from past couple of months and it works best in all seasons

Yes Airtel 3G is good but the data provided as compared to cost is a lot, that is the only reason I did not get an Airtel 3G connection. Otherwise Airtel services and coverage is excellent.

    I second that!

Coming back to the question out of wired and wireless I think MTNL wireless as in 3G is much better and the reason is that MTNL wires are not exactly reliable, sometimes the wiring is all new and sometimes its old.

Wireing depends on ur locality in a clean environment wires remain like new ones for months but in overcrowded areas like the place i live in and those prone to monkeys wires are badly affected.

No matter what company internet u have wired network is always better and in case of mtnl i havent used their wireless but yes for sure wired is not much realible... Depends on ur luck..

I had an MTNL wired connection which was awful, i got regular problems, and just down the road in a local internet cafe they also had MTNL and apparently they have never faced any problem. Sheer luck I guess.

ADSL is very dependent on the quality of cable that runs into your home. The internet cafe guy probably keeps the line man happy

I use Local Internet provider because of good customer care support, easy payment, etc.

Last time my internet cable was chewed by rats and then my ISP replace my cable on same day.

    ..
Next day Rat again chew my cat5 cable.

MTNL wired service is better than MTNL 3G it is more reliable and speed is also stable, you need to also make sure that that the cables used are of good quality.

Wired connections are always better because the speed is always stable and less hassles about coverage, where as with a wireless as in 3G connection the main problem is coverage.

I am using MTNL ADSL wired connection for 6 years. It is reliable and cheapest connection available. Also the technicians are very quick to fix your problem.

I once used MTNL 3G, but it worked very very very slow. Reliance and Airtel 3G work much better.

If you want wireless connection for your smartphone, then you can have MTNL guys install wifi modem instead.

If the cables in the locality are good quality and line man is not lazy then MTNL would work great. It is all about the quality of cables.
