Default MTNL is upgrading their minimum broadband speed.

MTNL (Mahangar Telephone Nigam Limited), the Central Government owned telecommunication service provider announced a free upgrade of broadband speed fromthe existing 512 Kbps to two Mbps to all plans in New Delhi and Mumbai. So the minimum speed they will be getting is 2 Mbps.

This is in addition to their existing free night calls from MTNL landlines to any operators from 10 pm to 7 am. The new change has already come into effect from 1st October 2015.

So that means it was only on paper. That is really frustrating. But till now there is no update on that. If your views are based on the MTNL website, then it will take time to update. After all it is a Government organization so we can't expect everything soon.

In fact I am not aware if it has happened at ground level because I do not use MTNL service.

My speed was over 240kbps for just 2 days now it's again back to normal 60-70kbps.. Liers MTNL

I don't think MTNL wud be able to survive in the coming time with the launch of high speed broadband plans by Den hathway and Nextra in Delhi at affordable and cheap prices

When I first saw the post, I was actually amazed that such a thing would be implemented. But, now after reading the comments, I can see that such a thing would not be possible.
