Thread: How long do I have to wait for a connection?

I live in Borivali and I applied for an MTNL broadband connection in October. Got the docket number and everything. Then 1 month later when there was no response I called again only to find out that the MTNL service person had given me the wrong docket number so I had to start afresh and book my connection again. Till today there is no sign of my connection and the customer service guy says I'll have to wait another couple of months.

Has everyone else had to wait this long for a connection. I mean shouldn't they STOP ADVERTIZING if they can't guarantee customer service. If I had known they would take ages when I booked the connection I would have explored other options. Plus I already purchased the modem. Now it makes no sense coz I've already waited this long. I'm at my wits end. What should I do?

Switch to Airtel. Also let them know that you have your own modem.

This was not the case long back when the previous minister was at his helm and everything was done smoothly. Do you know that i got my connection the next day when i applied for bsnl. But over the past 5 months or more it has become worse. I can compare this current scenario with broadband with the way we get out phone connection in the past, where it will take years to get a phone connection when we apply!

this is not new! I have applied for a connection last november and they say that it will take 2 months more! Looks like you need to have somebody on the inside! :-)

I know .. I'm still waiting for the connection. Meanwhile the Airtel guys are also delaying .. I wonder if theres a problem with my area or something... Planning to storm into MTNL's office tomorrow. Well at least I'll get my anger out on them (Lets just hope they don't disconnect my line altogether.. lol) They should stop advertizing if they dont have the bandwidth

Have you looked into any other service providers?
