I have the following.
1. Laptop (A)
2. PC (B)
3. D-LINK 502T ADSL 2+ Modem (C)
4. Netgear wgr614 v7
Current Situation
My MTNL Broadband is configured on D-Link Modem
I want to setup Home Network for Sharing Files and Internet
1. I disconnected PC from D-Link
2. Connected PC to WiFi
Now I want the following scenario.
STEP 1
WiFi _____PC
|________LAPTOP
PC: 192.168.1.5
Laptop: 192.168.1.10
Subnet for both: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (This wud be Wifi Router IP)
DNS: 192.168.1.1 (This wud be Wifi Router IP)
At this point of time I have not connected MTNL DLINK Modem..
Once this internal network is established I want to share files between PC and Laptop.
STEP 2
After configuring this internal network I should be able to just plug in ADSL Modem into the Internet port of Netgear Router and Internet should also be shared between the two ocmputers.
But the problem is
1. After configuring network as explained in STEP 1 I am not able to ping Laptop and PC.
2. Assuming if I am able to setup this internal network. Then if I plugin MTNL ADSL Modem into Netgear. Will there be any IP Conflict as both has 192.168.1.1
When I try changing Netgear LAN IP..the page doesnt refresh.
3. Since I am manually setting up IP for Laptop and PC as 192.168.1.5 & .10
I guess I don't need to make my Netgear Router as DHCP Server. Right?
