 Separate thread is not required. Can you check the following? a) go to "My Network Places" and right click on this icon. b) Select 'Properties' c) In the "Network Connections" window, at least two entries should appear: - Local Area Connection (this is for wired LAN) - Wireless Network Connection (this is wireless LAN) If "Wireless Network Connection" appears above, right click on this and click on "View Available Wireless Networks". Post the results and screenshots. Other points to consider: a) You must have Windows XP/Pro on your laptop. b) You must have enabled Wireless Networking on Linksys WRT54G.
