Default Wireless Configuration With UT300RU and Linksys WRH54G

    Hello all,
I have subscribed to the MTNL 849NU plan and they have provided me with the UT300RU ADSL Modem.
I also have a Linksys WRH54G wireless router which I used with my previous ISP (Sify) and plan to use the same with the MTNL connection.

As far as I have gathered, I would need to do the following :
    1. Set UT-300RU to run in Bridged mode.
    2. Set LAN IP for UT-300RU to 192.168.1.1
    3. Connect UT-300RU to WRH54G on WAN port.
    4. Set WRH54g WAN connection type to PPOE.
    5. Enter MTNL user/pass in WRH54G alongwith the DNS servers.
    6. Set WRH54G LAN to 192.168.2.1.
    7. Enable DHCP server on WRH54G

Should the above procedure allow me to access the internet from any machine which is connected to the Linksys WRH54G or is any other configuration required or prefered?

Also, once this is done, will this also allow me to share and access files and services across all the machines that are connected in the LAN?

Above all, with the modem and router configured as before, do I need any specific settings in order to get a good download speed with Torrent clients like BitLord etc?

Please let me know at the earliest regarding the same.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ashish K.

Default MTNL ADSL sharing with wireless

    Hi.
Here is the setup I'm using:

    MTNL ADSL MODEM:
    1. Enable DHCP server.
    2. Assign IP address (e.g. 192.168.0.1)

    LINKSYS WRH54G:
    1. Disable WAN/Internet access.
    2. Setup Wireless Security(In my case, this is WEP and MAC address filter)
    3. Assign LAN IP address to the router in the same class as the ADSL Modem. (e.g. 192.168.0.10)
    4. Connect the Wireless router to the ADSL Modem using the LAN/Ethernet ports. Do not use the WAN/Internet port on the linksys for this.
    5. Add the MAC address of the machines that are likely to use the wireless network in the MAC filter list.

There are multiple ways of setting this up. I personally prefer MAC addressing for wireless connections. If you choose this option then let me know and I'll provide the detailed process if required.

    Regards,
