    Default GLB 502t

    Hi guys,
Unfortunately, I bought a D Link GLB 502t modem in April 2008, it worked fine for some 20 days after which it started showing signs of anger. First the LAN used to reset & ADSL started blinking till the connection was rebuilt.

Some 40 days after, LAN died out completely, all four LEDs glow up, but it never connects, it only says connecting to ww.xyx.com.......Earlier at least it showed the low connectivity message, now it is gone too.Net, simply, wont connect, it is ultra annoying. So I went to USB & so far it is working, but with frequent resets.

Unfortunately, I never read any reviews for this junk piece, had I read one, i would have never bought it.

    My question is as follows:
I have a modem which i bought earlier for tata indicom broadband. It is BiPAC 5200S,Billion ADSL(please check its specs by googling). So the question is, can i somehow use this modem for my mtnl triband connection??

Yes. You can use the modem. You need to reset it first and set it up again using MTNL specified values for VPI and VCI. I believe that these are 0 and 35 respectively (same as BSNL) but I could be wrong.

hey hi, thanks for response, I actually configured my old modem just after I posted this thread. Now I am using my older modem, the only problem is that I cant connect my landline at the time I am using net, coz this old modem does not have any extra port for landline like the earlier GLB502t used to have.

@just4kix, its actually 32 for mtnl.

@smestarz, I configured the modem about 500 times, but to no avail, this BiPAC S5200(my old modem), is just working fine, ie no probs with my ethernet, GLB 502t had a fault.

Personally, I don't think MTNL has done a very nice thing by distributing these faulty units, I mean, come on, there are about a thousands of bad reviews for this modem, it only highlights the height of curruption as well as the stupidity of people(myself included, as I didnt see the reviews only, but then my dad bought it ) ), anyways GLB502t sucks.

    1. Linksys
