Unhappy Help! Automated Router Reboot problem

Hi all,

My current plan is Triband NU and my router is DSL-502T. I have been using the script for automatically rebooting my router for the past 2 months.

Everything had been going smoothly until yesterday, when I start getting this error in the Telnet prompt:
Connecting to 192.168.1.1... Could not open connection to the host, on port 23: Connect failed

I first thought it was a problem with the firewall installed on my computer, but even when I disabled the firewall, the problem persisted.

I wonder if you guys could help me out, or else I'll have to wake up every morning and manually restart my modem

Thanks
S

Default Automated router reboot problem

I went through similar issue.

the steps to be taken are as follows:

1. Reset your modem by pressing the reset button on your 502t modem.
2. login to your modem through 192.168.1.1
3. enter your tel no and password ( consumer number is default)
4. click apply icon
5. go to system, then tools and save your setting on hard drive.
6. The system will take some time and it reboots.
7. Please ensure you reboot the modem by disconnecting the power supply on 502t.
8. check whether the reboot script is working by doing the operation few times.

The core issue seems to be the rebooting process of the modem usually does not get completed thru the web interface. Therefore manual rebooting is required quickly. Otherwise the modem goes to previous state.
Trust this will help.
