Default Dwarka mtnl exchange with 4000 connections down

I just found out that at Dwarka the Mtnl exchange at Dwarka Sec-6 has more then 4000 broadband connections and all of them are down for the last few days.

No more information has been provided by the local exchange and there is no information about when this exchange's adsl lines will start working or what they are doing about it.

If any Mtnl official is reading this please do something about this... we got more then 4000 houseolds offline at the moment

The MTNL broadband is still not working... I stay in Dwarka and for the last 10 days the broadband is not working... The phone is working fine

I am not too sure whether its related to exchange cause when I am calling customer care (1500) they are telling that everything is fine from their end.

I am using Beetel 2+ ADSL (Airtel) modem. I have tried resetting it also with no luck. The link is not showing up.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards

Mtnl broadband was down for more then a week at Dwarka but yesterday I was at a friends office in Vardhman mall and he has an Mtnl broadband connection there which was working fine yesterday.. I am 100% positive that mtnl broadband was working fine at Dwarka last night dont know about now.

As you are living in Dwarka why dont you get an Airtel broadband connection instead? it will save you a lot of hassel.

    Hi,

I would love to switch to Airtel and thats what I was using earlier before moving to Dwarka. Unfortunately, the society doesn't allow any other vendor than MTNL within their premises for wireline.

I can definately use some other wireless providers but than the speed wud be pathetic. Do you suggest any wireless provider which is good ?

Also, would request to kindly provide the configuration details of Beetel ADSL for MTNL.

    Regards.

    Thanks a lot...

I think I am a bit lucky this time as today morning I saw a kiosk of Airtel in my building and found out that they have got the approval from the society.

So within 15 days they would complete their cable wiring etc....

Hope that Airtel is a better option compared to all the other providers ... any comments ???

    Regards,
    Anupam

I too live in West Delhi and got a new wireless connection from MTNL. However, I am unable to secure the connection and MTNL is of little help. The engineer just came and set the MAC address for the connection but no Data Encryption, etc. Do you have wireless or Lan connection from MTNL? Does anyone here have a wireless connection from MTNL. If yes, please advice me on how to secure the connection. Thanks.
