You can always keep a tab on your usage (and usage pattern) by sessions and monthly usage, on MTNL at "register.mtnl.net.in" login with your user id and password. and go to "view session history", this will always give you a clear idea.

thats a good idea and apart from that you can use any download meter which can give you all time data in simple report.. there are lot many download meters available free of cost..
