Hi guys..
Please let me know the solution (if any), i applied and billed for the 1299 i.e. 512 kbps unlimited and i am getting the speed of 256 kbps. I complained several times on customer care service, but nothing has been done.

Please let me know what exactly i can do to make the things better.... for me its loosing big time as i am paying and still not getting services. Moreover i got the modem at my place on 20 aug and services got active on 10 Aug.

Can any one suggest me how to take the things with MTNL

lekhi as per ur status, u r on 256 UL plan but as per ur words u r saying u r on 512 UL.
In 512 UL, Ur Upstream should be 256 and Downstream should be 512 kbps, so if u divide 512 by 8=64 kBps this is ur download speed.This is maximum, u wont b able to cross this speed.

Right now as u r synced on 256 plan, ur download speed should be max 32 kBps.

So what u can do now-
1. Either change ur plan to 256 Unlimited.
2. Change ur sync speeds by visiting SANCHAR HAAT.

I think 2nd option is much better, as change of sync is very easy process and ur speed will be rectified in few mins. When u visit SH, take gate pass to meet Broadband Divisional Officer of ur junction(like 2845, 2846 junction) tell him to open speed interface for ur no, he'll log onto a portal from their main server and u'll get ur hands on 512 Downstram.

Remember all sync speeds r in kbps(kilo bits per sec) and Download speed is in kBps(kilo Bytes per sec) and Downstream is different than download speed.
