I was in Connaught place ( New Delhi) yesterday and just happened to check a few stock prices while I was there and was amazed to see the speed there... then I realised that instead of an E for the gprs connection it was 3.5g

Mtnl is running 3.5g trials in connaught place area so I pulled out my laptop and connected it using mtnl mobile connection via the phone and the speed was around 1mbps

I read some where that Mtnl is going to launch 3.5g all over Delhi soon

Any one else here lives or works in or around the area where 3.5g is live now?

Havent had any announcements from Mtnl about Mtnl's 3g launch although bloggers are talking about it and most say that mtnl 3g will be launched commercially this month itself but there is no official word on it yet.

Does anyone know anything?

Mtnl starts 3g services from 11 dec 2008 in delhi (according to hindustan times).

Just one day left for 3g services to be launched here in Delhi by Mtnl.

Who else is desperately waiting to see that 3g sign instead of the stupid E we see right now here in Delhi

Does anyone know what time is this launch thing? I read somewhere that 3g will be launched in NDMC area of Delhi and also Gurgaon so not sure if I would see that 3g sign after all

Does anyone have more specific information about this mtnl delhi 3g launch?

I just called Mtnl dolphin customer service and they said Mtnl Delhi is not going to start 3g services today... its just a launch thing which will happen today and general public wont get to use 3g services untill Feb 2009.

Yes , mtnl has not launched 3g in all areas. Also tariff plans are yet to be decided. Visit mtnldelhi.in/3g_launch.htm for more info.

3G service will be launched in Chennai by BSNL next month....

Yeah, it was officially launched on Dec 11th. But i think they still haven't finalized the Tariff and so the commercial use will take another 2 months to roll out.

If i buy me a MTNL sim card right now i will be able to use 3g services for free for the next few months on the select places mentioned in the voucher...rite?

Noida doesnt have 3g yet but you can use 3g while you are at work

I used mtnl 3g for about half an hour and its not bad atall... speed was not much may be about 150-200kbps but that might have been somethign to do with the server I was downloading from as I didnt do any speed tests.

I might go to Cannaught place today and if I get some time will try and see what sort of speed mtnl's 3g has

The whole of NCR where MTNL operates and provides mobile phone services will get 3g services in Feb as per the press release. Gurgaon already has it as far as I know... anyone from Gurgaon using mtnl 3g here?

If Noida falls uder NCR which I think it does should get 3g soon

3g will also increase jobs in delhi

There will be lots of people looking for drivers who drive themselves these days but would prefer to use their time working while travelling and 3g will make it worthwhile even if its just a 30 mins drive one can get soooo much done in that time.

I just came to know from a very reliable source that MTNL is going to Launch 3G services Commercially from 5th Feb 2009. They have tested the service and it was good to go. They have also changed the logo for 3G Jadoo.

Ive been waiting for 3g for sooooo long... Loife would be sooo much easier when 3g is here.
