    Default MTNL mobile TV

I activated the mtnl mobile tv service for my mobile phone three days ago and I also managed to install their application for mobile tv but to date I havent been able to watch anything on my mobile because it just wont work and customer service just took down the details of what the error was and that was it... they do this every time I call so basically I wasted Rs100 which is the monthly charge and got nothing in return. But then what else can you expect when its a sarkari company?

Do we have anyone here who has been able to get this Mtnl mobile tv service working on their mobile phones? Please share your experiences.

Thats something new i have heard from MTNL. I also heard that their mobile service and reception is quite bad, which is why i didnt get an MTNL mobile connection.

    Has it improved?

Has anyone tried the mobile TV with MTNL?

i really don't think MTNL's mobile TV concept is real enough coz i think it works on basic GRPS which is really not fast enough for a TV to survive.

    Good point smoothy!

I saw someone once, they had phone which looked quite nice, but i didn't know which one it was, and they also had TV on their! When the TV was connected it did look a bit ugly because of the aerial but it was ok as it was only during the time that TV was going to be watched!

I asked someone about it and they told me that the phone gets a signal from any one who has TV, and it provide the mobile phone owner with the free channels to their mobile phone!

I thought it was preety cool!

Mtnl mobile TV didnt work for me. Also, mtnl transmits tv channels by http protocol & not rstp protocol , so it will be slow & will have bad quality.

You can watch live tv 4 free (without paying Rs. 99). Just visit
    yupptv.com/mobile/YuppMobile.aspx
from your mobile to watch india tv & tv9.

They are called china mobile and they are junk.
See they evade taxes and customs that needed to be paid to the govt.
Not to mention the Patents and health issues

I just have this notion that Chinese are goons and their product is junk.

Govt has already advised service providers to terminate Chinese mobiles which does not posses a valid IMEI number. So within some months a major chunk of it should be eradicated from Indian market.

i think it wont be easy to eradicate these mobiles from the indian market ... once things like this become popular ... they find some way or other to penetrate the market ... it would be illegal but still would be popular with some people

Mobile companies do not use mobile numbers to identify the subscribers. When a call is established it is the IMEI number which comes into play. Hence it is real easy as a pie to weed out such mobiles.
