Default Very low speed on MBlaze - hate it

I just got 3 Mbps upt0 12 GB plan and there after 144 Kbps. To my dismay, it never crossed 60 KBps and at times gives even less than 1 KBps (no matter day or night). Is there any way out ? Please help.

Thanks essbebe, seems very useful. In my case signal strength is excellent but speed never reached anywhere near .75 Mbps even when they promised 3 Mbps till 12 GB. The worst part is that it is now not even giving the 1 KBps which it used to give though I have used only (read managed) around 4 GB.

    @meetdilip
Can you access the modem settings.?
Any brand name ? Check in Device Manager .
Can you post a screen shot of the page showing signal strength ?

You can download latest MTS Mblaze Software for Hi Speed Broadband Internet Device on official mts broadband site.

You can try to find out Driver Device ztemt USB Modem 3100 CDMA 145496.devid.info.exe file. There are various third party site holds this file. You need to check these details and then download it into your system. It helps to you for making the connection with the windows xp pro system.

Yes, but there are limited options in there. Nothing much than changing DNS.

In device manager, it shows " ZTE USB Modem FFF1 #2 "

Can you post a screen shot of the page showing signal strength ?

    Here

Which site offers the software ? My Mblaze is recent and I use the software that came with the USB modem itself. We just need to insert the USB and it will ask to install.

For almost one week my D/L speed from MTS was 3-5 kbps, I was complaining everyday but they were not doing anything.

Then I shouted at them and said I would leave their service, and then they fixed it.

Then I said what about the one week I have lost because of you? It is a prepaid connection, compensate me for the time lost, and they said no.

Very cheat, rogue company. And the speed is nothing great either, even when it is working 'ok' according to them.

signal strength is the prime issue Dilip..

    change your angles.
Change the place where you keep the pc.
See if there are no bars on your window. If they are try to get them open try.
Also check being sitting at the middle of the room, may help.

If you see the 3g wifi routers, the usb modem is inserted Vertically, in the unit , giving advantage of height and better antenna orientation.

Even the router can be positioned for better signal pickup , say near the window.
In most laptops the usb modem is parallel to the ground and simply rotating the laptop should show at least one peak.
( radiation pick up figure of 8)
Another suggestion is to use a Dish (as for DTH ) and get max signals. by proper elevation and azimuth.Use short cables for above. ( somewhere max 3 meters was specified )

    .
If its Mblaze Premium [ZTE AC2766] then it already has the facility of swivel base to let it stand at 90 degree.
