Default MTS 40GB for Rs999 post paid

I missed this news back in March hence this thread. I just noticed that on MTS website they have this new Rs999 per month plan that gives you 40GB data but there is no mention of what happens after you use up 40GB. I even spoke to MTS customer care and the guy in their customer support department took my phone number and said I would recieve a call with info later on as he had no clue himself.

Any one of you used this plan yet? Any idea about what happenes after using up 4GB data.

I called up again to find this info and this is what I got :

They call it 40GB unlimited and you get full speed upto 40GB. Once you have used up 40GB data you would get 144kbps speed until 50GB and beyond 50GB you will get 64kbps speed.

Not bad atall. I use MTS prepaid and I dont get anything better then 2-2.5mbps even on torrents so cannot say it is better then MTNL in any way but for a private player I would say decent move as far as pricing goes. I hope other operators will follow suit and cut their prices or increase data allowances for similar price range data plans.

we are using this for our office. with the Rev.B dongle we get around 3-4 mbps speed. we attach it to TP-Link TD-W8968 router and share the connection among 10 systems.

Mine is a prepaid connection and I only grt 20gb for Rs999. I am very tempted to get a post paid connection with Rs999 plan so I could get 40Gb allowance. This 999 is excluding tax so an extra 12.36% on top of 999 will have to be paid as tax if I get it.

MTS mblaze speed gets too slow in the evenings. I have a prepaid MTS with 999 plan and I get slow speed every evening.

The postpaid Rs999 connection does sound good, but the fact that its a postpaid connection its a bit off putting. Its common to get problems in a billing connection which is why I avoid them.

@ Admin are there any extra charges on top of the Rs999 per month?

The prepaid Rs999 plan will cost Rs999 all in but the post paid Rs999 plan will cost you 12.36% extra on top of Rs999.

MTS will get very slow exactly when you need it. My connection does not even open google home page some times. Look for another connection and save yourself some frustration.

Speed also depends on the type of device. There are 3 different types of dongles available with MTS. The original type was CDMA 1x supporting upto 144 kbps. The next type (branded MBlaze) is EVDO Rev.A and supports upto 3.1 mbps. The recent type (branded MBlaze Ultra) is EVDO Rev.B and supports upto 9.8 mbps.

This plan is fixed rental plan with no scope for additional billing. There is only FUP of 40 GB after which speed drastically reduces.

That modem supports speed upto 9.8 mbps so the modem you have is pretty good.
