    Unhappy Nightmare of MTS Broadband

We bought a POST PAID BROADBAND plan from MTS in Pondicherry just one day ago (11-06-2015). The DEMO was excellent. After the DONGLE was ACTIVATED the next day there was VERY SLOW or ZERO DATA TRANSFER!!!! Now I am unable to CANCEL the service as the GUY (Mr. Mahesh) who sold the plan and provided demo says he is HELPLESS and wants me to go to the 1800 Number which HAS NO SELECTION to communicate this request!!!! Imagine, we are SCREWED within 24 hours. Also, we will have to end up PAYING POST PAID FEE of Rs 999 +Tax for next TWO MONTHS from date of cancellation according to salesman Mr. Mahesh. This means a LOSS of Rs 3500/- WITHOUT GETTING ANY SERVICE FROM MTS. It is high time the Government INVESTIGATED this COWBOY OUTFIT and SHUT THEM DOWN!!! There are thousands of complaints by HELPLESS CUSTOMERS OF MTS all over the Internet. There is NO WAY one could TALK TO ANY HUMAN BEING in the organization and get any CUSTOMER SUPPORT for NON-FUNCTIONING OF DATA PLAN.

I have on many occasions requested forum members in different threads not to rely upon company provided demos and go for actual reviews instead by people who live near by. It is best to speak to people around you and find out what they use and how the connection performs instead of getting an ugly surprise after spending the money.

I would also like to know if you have tried your connection at different times of the day including very early in the morning. I myself use MTS wifi dongle and its been working great for me but it does struggle at peak times and even browsing a simple page becomes difficult at times.

Iam from Chennai Don't buy MTS broadband in postpaid or prepaid whatever..iam suffered lot.. Poor customer service no reponse. Better Buy a CDMA Unlocked Data card and buy a Reliance CDMA OMH sim and recharge with 246 for 4GB and use if u want unlimted Recharge with 949/-.. speed is average 1mpbs its enough for me.

I DO NOT WISH TO EXPERIMENT AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE DAY - my purpose of connectivity is to be able to connect whenever needed - to buy stuff, pay bills, bank transfers, send & receive mail. Hence I cannot understand how it concerns me if it is "PEAK HOURS" or not - the service provider DOES NOT PROVIDE FREE SERVICE.

It was a practical suggestion but you are right it should not conscern you. Unfortunately most if not all services crawl at peak hours. The best way to pick an ISP is to get reviews locally.

You live in India and you should know better. You cannot be living in a third world country and expect services like they provide in a developed country. That is the price we have to pay for being an Indian. The same companies provide top class services in countries like UK, USA and Canada etc.

MTS broadband has really terrible service, even in Delhi there are many cases lodged by people against MTS in Consumer Court. I agree that they provide good service in the countries like U.K, U.S.A and Canada I don't know what's wrong with India. This is totally unfair don't go with MTS broadband.

MTS has been showing terrible services since the last few months. Especially in the month of September, it really irritated people a lot. Most of the times I was dependent on my mobile's Vodafone network for most of my internet related functions. Since the last two to three days however, I can experience a little improvement in terms of speed and connectivity. I wish it continues to be like this!
