Russian conglomerate Sistema promoted Indian CDMA operator MTS India is now on a device launch spree. Recently the operator has launched a new high speed internet enabled feature phone Alcatel OT616c.

In last weeks MTS has introduced new smartphone MTag 401 and a tablet MTag Tab 7.0. Both are running on Android and supports EVDO Rev A (3.1 Mbps down/1.8Mbps up).

One of the difference between MTag 401 and Tab from Alcatel OT616c is OT616c is a unlocked non-touch phone and it is not a smartphone. OT616c has a 2.4 inch TFT LCD display with Qualcomm QSC6085 processor, 2MP rear camera, Bluetooth, USB 2.0, Pre installed apps liek facebook, Opera, Twitter, Youtube, Music and video player and 950 mAh battery.

Weighed at just 85gm the phone can be used as modem when connected to PC or laptop. During this process drivers will be automatically installed.

When you buy Alcatel OT616c from any MTS Retail Store for Rs 3,499 you are eligible to get tariff, voice & text and data benefits.

Conclusion:
It is a fact that data enabled CDMA phones are few in India. At this price range OT616c seems to be good buy considering it is a unlocked device with multimedia support and good data plans from MTS.
