    Thumbs up Gr8 !

Okies .... The news and papers are all filled with OBAMA !

I wish we had somebody so inspiring and young[politician] in India ....

It seems he s become a hero worldwide .... In the news it says that even the Chinese [especially the youngsters] have gone Gaga over him .... and these guys r not used to elections mind you, as China is a Communist Nation.....

People in kenya have gone mad [For a good reason His father is from Kenya ]

Many Indians it seems were also campaigning for Obama !... thru Telephones .... and they r celebrating
Indonesia where he lived a little while when he was a kid has also erupted in celebrations .

Even Russia and Iran have given positive comments Regarding Obama ...... Russian Premier even going as far as saying that Russia was not Anti-American  .....

Hopefully he will fulfill his promises on policies he made during campaigning ... Well a guy from nowhere bursts into the spotlight competing and defeating the Likes of Clinton and MaCain to become the First Black President and one of the youngest ...... Well its one event nobody is going to forget soon !

His campaigning was clean no ?

And Obama mixing with Ku Klux Klan

    That would be impossible

Read up on Obama's story [background]...... very interesting .....

He has in the past turned down many powerful positions ... and theres a auro of honesty about him .... he really believe in what he does ...

He was also a Senior Lecturer in a law college ....

    Here s an excerpt
    Quote
The young Professor stood apart in many ways than one .Other Faculties dreamed of tenured positions ,he turned them down . At formal institutions Obama was a loose presence , joking with students about their romantic prospects , using first names , referring to case law one moment and "The Godfather " the next .

I believe that they can't do what they did in Iraq...I mean India is a Super power. I second that - India should not tolerate such things

Manish I dont think you understand American Politics man ......

U.S Does nt want to invade India .... It wants India as an ally against China ....

Are you seriously telling me that US wants Kashmir for its own ... ?

Or wants to give it to Pak?

By the way U.S Has a way stronger army than India ......I have been keenly following both their Military expenditures ....
Even China can defeat India if there was an Indo-China war ...

Why do i say that ? ....... India has one of the largest infantry army ..... unfortunately thats not very useful ......
The strength of any modern army lies in its air force/navy ....... Most Of Indian aircrafts as you know are outdated , India has only one aircraft carrier [very old again] ,
India does not have any nuclear submarines,Ships [which uses nuclear fuel, not weapons].
U.S is spending huge amount of Money Mechanizing their army .... a few years from now .. U.S army will consist of Humans as well Artificial Intelligence Robots!
Same can be said about China ....

But anyways it would be laughably improbable that U.S would invade India .... Cause then Russia will also get involved .... and U.S has long considered India as a Buffer to China .

    muBarak Obama

I have been watching the race to white house for a very long (for past 8~10 months) starting from the Hilary-Obama fight for the Democratic seat.I was so happy That Obama won & then become the 1st Black President.
A black man in the White house - What an idea, sirji.
I have not even followed our Lok Shaba election that much.

Obama has a new website at Change.gov , probably till the completion of transition.

On Asia from Foreign Policy | Change.gov ; No mention of India or Pakistan.

Seek New Partnerships in Asia: Obama and Biden will forge a more effective framework in Asia that goes beyond bilateral agreements, occasional summits, and ad hoc arrangements, such as the six-party talks on North Korea. They will maintain strong ties with allies like Japan, South Korea and Australia; work to build an infrastructure with countries in East Asia that can promote stability and prosperity; and work to ensure that China plays by international rules.

Correct in his policy Statements nothing about Kashmir..........In one of his speech he made a passing reference to something about solving Kashmir problem .....
When Democrats were in power last time they seemed very interested in Kashmir affair ... [ that is a good decade ago]

So now Indians are wary about them again taking interest in the issue ....

-->There is very little probability of Obama Taking up the issue as he has more pressing matters at home [like economy and Iraq] ...which may take up to 3 yrs to be resolved ..... after that he also wants to Diplomatically deal with Iran and Russia [beautifully put ....."Opposed Bush-Cheney Saber Rattling"]

Indians r assuming that he may take interest 'Cuz of the reason i said above

    Officially this is their stance

Seek New Partnerships in Asia: Obama and Biden will forge a more effective framework in Asia that goes beyond bilateral agreements, occasional summits, and ad hoc arrangements, such as the six-party talks on North Korea. They will maintain strong ties with allies like Japan, South Korea and Australia; work to build an infrastructure with countries in East Asia that can promote stability and prosperity; and work to ensure that China plays by international rules.

Why i think Obama is good

That's why Obama stood up to the Bush administration's warnings of war, just like he stood up to the war in Iraq.

Obama and Biden opposed the Kyl-Lieberman amendment, which says we should use our military presence in Iraq to counter the threat from Iran. Obama and Biden believe that it was reckless for Congress to give George Bush any justification to extend the Iraq War or to attack Iran.

Obama supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions.

The United States is trapped by the Bush-Cheney approach to diplomacy that refuses to talk to leaders we don't like. Not talking doesn't make us look tough – it makes us look arrogant, it denies us opportunities to make progress

To make diplomacy a priority, Obama will stop shuttering consulates and start opening them in the tough and hopeless corners of the world – particularly in Africa.

Obama and Biden will embrace the Millennium Development Goal of cutting extreme poverty around the world in half by 2015, and they will double our foreign assistance to $50 billion to achieve that goal.

They will stop the development of new nuclear weapons; work with Russia to take U.S. and Russian ballistic missiles off hair trigger alert; seek dramatic reductions in U.S. and Russian stockpiles of nuclear weapons and material

Obama will insulate the Director of National Intelligence from political pressure

Obama will reverse President Bush's policy of secrecy. He will institute a National Declassification Center to make declassification secure but routine, efficient, and cost-effective.

I hope so too but it is a double edged sword, If Obama makes some
mistakes like Bush during his presidency then it will just give
    more fodder for the racists.

Actually I think China can even kick US, Right now US military is
spread too thin around the world and spent too much. China is
fresh and their entire army is available.
