Angry Delhi Blueline Menace

Delhi Blueline Menace

Quote:
A 15-year-old girl was crushed to death when she came under the wheels of a Blueline bus in Delhi on Wednesday.

Sonia, a class nine student of a government school in Deoli in south Delhi, was killed after she came under the wheels of the bus around 7 am while she was waiting for her friend at the bus stop, the police said.

The girl died on the spot and the bus driver plying on route number 423 between Deoli and old Delhi railway station fled from the spot after the incident.

More than 70 people have been killed this year under the wheels of Blueline buses.Last year, at least 120 people were run over by Blueline buses.

I keep hearing news about people getting killed by the Killer Blueline Bus now & then.I feel very sorry for their family. Why are innocent people getting killed?
  • What is this Blueline service,is it Delhi govt intiated or its private?
  • Is the Delhi govt. taking any step to stop this?
  • Why are these drivers driving so rash, are they inexperienced in driving?
  • Have any steps been taken against the drivers who have killed the innocent people?

I have never heard about this before. Not in any news channels.

An old article related to the topic -> Blueline bus drivers hold Delhi to ransom-Delhi-Cities-The Times of India.

Being from Delhi..its not a new news...This is getting Horrible day by day
This Blueline is totally a private service...Delhi people are more dependent of these buses and not of DT(Delhi Transport) buses because of the no. of buses running on roads..bluelines are in majority....the owner of these buses know that if they went on strike how worse it could be for delhi..because Delhi govt doesn't have the sufficient no. of buses to rule out blueline...

To overcome the accident rate..a new transport system has been introduced in some parts of delhi called as BRT system (Bus rapid transit system)..which allows these heavy vehchiles like private buses, govt buses, dump trucks, ambulances, fire truck etc to run in a dedicated lane...

The roads have been divided into three lanes.one for buses...one for cars and bike and the third for rickshaw, cyles etc...

But the problem still persists..

Govt should pull down some more govt buses and should ban these killer buses

It is private bus service which runs on delhi roads according to routes decided by state govt. Private bus operates own these buses and govt. don't have anything to do with it.

Yes, Govt. tried to take steps but still unable to see any big difference in this, in year 2000 govt. started a certification course for all bus drivers and it is compulsory to clear that exam before driving bus on Delhi roads.
Provided a dedicated bus lane.

Just to get more passengers as they get daily targets from bus owner .

I am not sure about this but can say what i know, people launch complaints and then police files case in court, thats it and after court they just need to go there for a date and that's all.
