Rep Power: 0 | The Bombay blasts I don’t know why my comments on mayhem in India has brought forth no comments, but still the Bombay blasts has affected me so much that I have to express my feelings. The recent Bombay blasts. I will call it nothing less than a terrorist war has I hope, shaken some of our leaders and politicians into action. Some prominent CEO commented that we Indians talk more and work less. That is what is happening. In spite of blasts occurring every two or three months in any city in India our politicians and opposition leaders give some statement and security will be tightened. After a month or two there will be some relax in security and than some fresh blasts occur. Where is safety for the common people? Is it not the basic duty of our government to keep its citizens safe? When will the Government and the people realize it? In Tamil Nadu we had a peace mass for genocide taking place in Shree Lanka. How much more should die, so that we go on a peace march and create awareness among the public. In this regard I really have to commend the US Government. After the September blasts the whole government, the media rose as one person and after consoling the people manage to keep terrorists at bay. I hope that our country rise to the occasion. Let us join hands and rise as one. Both the public and the private organizations should act and also we need effective leaders. I personally feel there is need for effective sincere leadership. It is high time we become matured and stop the blaming game. Effective leader is the need of the hour and I pray to the almighty that we will get such a leader who works for the safety and welfare of the people. Last edited by Admin; 01-12-2008 at 04:15 PM. |

| Alligator | I agree with ur point... We desparately need a leader who can fill some sense of nationalism in our hearts! On whose call Hindus-Muslims-Sikhs-Christians can forget their grievances and work together for better future... A leader who actually implements the security plans current politicians only talk about... A leader with a sense of accountability! |

Rep Power: 2 | India does have laws, but they need to be put into action, then things may work out better for the country! People on jobs like the police need to take their jobs seriously! |

| The Last Patriot | preeti, no one in those sectors can take their jobs seriously. if they do , they would have to arrest every single politician who is anybody in this god-forsaken country. all of them are related to some corruption or "ghotala" or whatever.

Rep Power: 2 | The main thing is there is no value for the people in India! Its the top people who get any value and are more important in this country not the ordinary people! If every person was valued, and taken into consideration then things would not happen! Why is it the security people in our country like the police etc who don't put 100% in their jobs! If there was security on the shore in Mumbai maybe the terrorists would not have entered the country! |

| Alligator | I read in New York Times(online) that these terrorists were actually intercepted by 2 coastal gaurds on the waters near Porbander (Gujarat)... Terrorists showed white flag to them... And when both of coastal gaurds boarded their ship to search for something unusual... Terrorists killed one gaurd... and over-powered another... They changed ships... And made that gaurd to sail that ship to Mumbai... They killed him just before reaching the shores near Oberoi Hotel... After that what happened everyone knows... ![]() |

You know, the best thing to do is to make the Police a saperate organization working under nobody but the President. They should be answerable to the Prez directly Pay checks should be increased so much that they are satisfied with their jobs. This will attract a lot of job seekers as well. Right now no one is going for this job because the money is not there, it will change once there is good money there. We need youngsters in police work. The days of the policemen standing in a corner chewing tabacco are over. Look at Dubai, there the people are scared to break the law as the policemen are NOT CORRUPTABLE at all. They take service tax from us in everything. There should be a tax taken for the defence of the country in everything as well. I would not mind paying more if it helps make our defense stronger against these terrorist acts and saves a lot of innocent lives, distruction of property and disruption of business. We ought to give a lot of training and superior arms to the police. If these guys can train kids like this then why cant our police be trained as professionally ?? | ||

Rep Power: 3 | I have a few points to make... pls take some time to read the whole post About the politicians I dont think our politicians are going to change [because of this catastrophe].People have gotten really angry and have this time [surprisingly] risen and shown their anger [rightly] against politicians , and because of this the govt is trying to take strong actions, which are more so to pacify the angry people before any elections than to protect the people . As you might have seen after a few days Politicians were back to Mud Slinging and Blame games . To stop terrorism Govt should have taken Proactive steps rather than Reactive steps . Neither BJP nor Congress have proved to be a responsible govt .... I heard that some people are forming "THE PROFESSIONALS PARTY IF INDIA" They want to change the dis functional and old Indian bureaucratic [red tape ] system by nominating educated and responsible politicians , who will have to earn their way into the party thru hard work . It sounds very promising , lets wait and see About the MEDIA I do not think 24 hour live coverage of the Event was necessary ! .... it was a huge security risk as The terrorists had handlers in Pak who were watching all the moves made by NSG and communicating it to the terrorists ... Also many reporters went dangerously close to the scene making themselves a security nuisance to the police and also in the process encouraging [by their actions] curious by-standers to do the same . There should be some limitations on this freedom About the police Well they r really brave hearts .... govt should arm them with necessary equipments and training so they can take on terrorism .So they can restrict the movements of terrorists until the Commandos arrive . About the people What you see now is merely the growing resentment of the people , bottled over a long time bubbling over .... But thats not enough , A French Revolution style civilian revolution in India should do it ....
