Default Smoking Scene is Allowed by Delhi High Court

Few days ago Govt. ban the smoking scene(only U and U/A category ) in universal movie but Delhi High court today give the verdict where honorable court said from now in Indian movie director can show the smoking scene.
This verdict is base of the theory that this rules is violating the fundamental rights of man also it is interfering in artist own creation & freedom of expression which is not good for art
Personally i welcome this decisions because i also feel this decisions will give more freedom to the Indian movie maker and question of smoking i always against of smoking but still i want to say movie is a mirror of society as long smoking will be happen in our society movie will also show that for a example director can't create all the character in every movie where they will drink milk in every time.
But still CBFC has lot of barrier (so many guide line) in movie so this question is still relevant that really Indian movie makers has freedom of to create his own movie totally in his/her style ?
So what is your opinion about that ?

This government + smoking business is going overboard.

Government should do all to discourage smoking. They can increase taxes. Banning smoking in public places is also a good idea. But banning films just because they show a guy (hero or otherwise) smoking is going too far.

banning smoking in public area's and near to educational instt. is alrite and i really don't have any problem with that but banning it in movies or media is not correct coz there are so many expressions and stories which cannot sound or look true without it and if you really talk about art then let the industry show true pictures.

I respect Delhi High Court's decision.

In some of the recent Tamil movies I saw whenever somebody
smokes there is a small subtitle at the bottom which says
smoking is injurious to health and you should not smoke.

The fundamental question is whether the actors smoking
on screen promotes smoking or not. There are a lot of
youngsters who look upon the actors as role models
and if they see the actor smoking they will think it is
    a cool thing to do.

So my solution is to give a 'A' rating to movies that
have lot of smoking and reduce the chance of kids
    watching it.

may be your point has quite valuable but still one think i can say in few old Classic Bengali movie(Oscar wining director Satyajit Roy's few movie) where movies are very much for all age and specially for children but such movie has couple of smoking scene now if they treated as adult movie then children will miss much more old but i still agree with you that in new age smoking scene is a fashion by hero may teenager can copy that so i feel smoking scene movie can divided into two criteria one is A rated another like U or U/A rated according to the movie.

    I support the decision.
What is needed more is to teach youngsters in schools at a young age that smoking is bad for health. Then their minds won't be as impressionable when they watch actors smoking.
The graphic messages on cigarette packs is also a good move.

I meant in school befor teenage. Once the teens start, they get out of control
This is where values and culture plays a part.

well the decision given by delhi court was ffine i think...! its no point streching this whole smokin thing...!

like in gujarat there is a ban of cigarrette smoking in public areas....wherein i still c the policewalas smoking on the traffic signals specially....evne while patrollin at nite.....thy r smoking......!!! Plus educated ppl too go on smoking n if someone tries n request them not to smoke thy ll strt arguing instead of throwing the cig or jus moving away form tht place.....!!!!!

so even if these govt. tries to keep such laws.....firstly its very much req. for the people to realise .....
Dont count wat u lost, cherish wat u ve & plan wat to gain...coz past neva returns but future may return the lost! Think-Decide-Act!!!!
