Hi All,

I read the below extract in todays newspaper

Women and Child development minister Renuka Choudhury contemplating launching a "Pub Bharo" andolan as an answer to Sri Ram Sene's Valentine's Day threat.

Renuka Choudhury on Thursday said that the youth should swarm pubs to make their point and teach the moral police brigade a befitting lesson.

I am in. I definately support the idea. and I am very glad atleast there is some one who is thinking how to answer these crook.

I'd like to see the ram sena !$#^ beaten up by youths.. more better if beaten up by ladies ....

thats a great thing, all these crappy workers of ram,hanuman, seeta, shiv sena don't have any right to stop anyone from going out, they are just trying to kill the freedom of our country. Everytime they talk about freedom and freedom fighters and at the end do such stupid and strange things.

this is stinking like hell, what is this even this ram sena head is not clear with his own idea's one side he is saying that he is not against love and all n on other side he is doing such kind of stupid things in pub. In any case insulting women is not acceptable at all. I think insulting women is also against traditions

After following this in the news for the past few days I have a few questions

1. Ram Sena says that girls were harassed in the Pub, then why did the Sena men beat up other girls. They could have caught the offenders and bought them to the police. Media was anyway covering the who incident

2. Another Ram Sena Activist state that the girls were dancing nude in the Pub. Wont a sting operation be better publicity, why beat up people?

3. Drug usage in the Pub, I am sure that such a huge group of brave Sena Activists would be more then a match for a few junkies, why not catch them and hand them over to the police or parade them in front of the media?

4. This was followed by a ban on girls wearing spaghetti tops and jeans and a celebration of V Day, I wonder why?

5. Why did the Sena target this specific pub, why not other Pub's in Mangalore? and who asked them to intervene to stop the so called Pub culture?

Bangalore has been the Pub City for 20 years, if what Ram Sena says is true Bangalore should be in complete moral anarchy by now.

I feel that the BJP Govt in Karnataka is equally to blame for not taking action against these hooligans. Karanataka Home Minister went on record to state "They (meaning parents of Shruti, the girl who was abducted and harassed for talking to a muslim boy) should protect your own children"

Does that mean that I should apply for a firearm to protect my family? Can this be taken as a admission of a failed administration who are unable to protect the civil liberties of a citizen?

If so then what is the difference between India and Afghanistan/Iraq?

yes heard.i think now lets start woman depression in some parts of our society.where she is barred to go out and told to wear cloth from head to toe.i think its high to start that campaign too because its more important issue than filling pubs.its a matter of women rights.and crime against the rights and respect of woman and common humanity.

Latest update is that the Shri Ram Sena has called off its proposed protests against Valentine's Day protests in Bengaluru. Sena founder Pramod Muthalik said that the decision to call off the protests was taken after they received specific information that some miscreants were planning to disrupt peace.

Seems like we won this one....congratulations to all who participated in the campaign...

I would like to point out a tragedy which occurred today and I feel takes away the effort that has gone into this campaign..Please find the article below...

A teenaged girl allegedly committed suicide after suspected Sangh Parivar activists publicly humiliated the girl for being friendly with a Muslim boy and handed both of them to police.

Sixteen-year-old Ashwini, a student of class ninth at the Aikala High School in Kinnigoli, along with her friend Mahadevi had gone to Maroor near Moodabidri in a bus to meet Saleem, a conductor-cum owner of the bus on Tuesday afternoon.

A group of suspected Sangh Parivar activists stopped the bus and took the three to Maroor police station. Police then called Ashwini's parents and handed her over to them.

Unable to bear the humiliation, the girl committed suicide by hanging herself at her house on Wednesday night, police said.

WTF ... couples are being insulted on road thorughout india ... they are being made to marry donkeys. couples are being forced to marry each other. gift shops are being damaged. specially in indore, ujjain,srinagar,bhopal etc ...

whats wrong with valentine's day ? whats wrong with love?

Valentine passed. Now, none of them will have any problem with anyone. Those guys just wanted to be a news, just publicity factor govt. should ban such parties
