Default IPL and Election should be in the same time ??

Now in this year April -May session IPL will be played but at the same time Loksabha Election will be happen in entire India. So already few problems are arising due to security purpose. Although Lalit Modi already declared that no match will be played at the polling date but still security question is relevant in this circumstances.

Election will be held in five phase (16, 22 & 23,30 April,7, 13 May). Now the point is Lots of police, RAF and Military will need for election now at that moment how Govt. will arrange massive security for players and also for the spectator ? Like as example in Eden 6000-7000 police man needed at the match date and also extra 500 for player at hotel & practice day. Generally in the time of election we all know where state police is not sufficient for security in election so police & military comes from the other state to conduct the election and it’s not the case of only WB it’s the problem of most of the state and probably that the reason polling will happen in five phase then it’s easy for security force to move one state to other during the election time also during the election time lots of popular national leader will campaign in various place so police need to give them security also. That’s the reason IPL’s player security is under the question and specially after Lahore incident it’s become more relevant because we need to remember that 2011 World Cup will be happen in India (probably in sub-continent) if any unfortunate incident happen in IPL with the player due to little lack of security then big question will be arise to organize in 2011 WC. But the problem is IPL also can’t be delay due to tight schedule so really it’s a critical situation for India.

What’s all of your opinion ?

Absolutely.. The main problem is IPL cannot be resheduled.. Commercial loss is one parameter which is approximately whopping 800 crore but above that it's straight question of india's capability... Whether india is able to cope with it or not.. Whatever happens in pakistan is tragic but can be stop if security would be tight..Last night i was shocked after seeing those terrorist roaming on road freely (On news channel)...This could never happen in india..

My answer for this question would be "IPL should be played as per schedule"

It's a condition where both of the things need to be managed well, for India's own safety. It will be a real challenge for the authorities to manage both of them together. Ofcourse elections can't be postponed because of IPL. And, I don't think postponing IPL will be possible now.

And not only that. There was one another thing that most of the terrorists had escaped by foot. They didn't have any get away vehicle.

But i think the problem here is even if the IPL does happen then most of the foreign players will probably decide to give it a miss.

Many England board members are now asking the members to stay behind, and they will probably opt out of the IPL.

Last time we completed IPL without england players... They had bomb blast in england also.. So logically nothing is safe... But we have to move...

I hope in this year England player will come in IPL but the main concern is can India give them tight security like last December they get in test series because 70-75 % police man will need for election and few others are needed for maintain law and order situation in the country. So,this year IPL will be real challenge for the administration that how they give security to all of them ?.

You are right ashu but one think still we have to accept that sub-continent is more unstable for terrorism than Europe && US(after 9/11 no major blast happen in US)

Well according to cricinfo.. The IPL commision have send their revised fixture to indian government and they're waiting to get approval..If government feel that giving enough protection won't be possible then IPL could get cancelled also

Although IPL new schedule has created for election but still now in this session IPL is depending on the state police opinion whether they can provide enough security or not because already few state police declared that they have limited force and obviously major part this force will be used for election. So question mark is still present in this year IPL.I am hoping everything will be alright.

well looks like now there are issues btwn sony tv n BCCI for some rights reg broadcasting of the IPL matches. Sony TV has taken BCCI to Mumbai Courts. Apart from tht looks like IPL wud def. be postponed.

IPL authority submitted another scheduled to Govt.of India probably that the final time they have submitted the scheduled one good news WB Govt. & police probably accept that new scheduled because all seven home matches of Kolkata Knight Rider will be finished within 26th April (before 1st polling day of WB 30th April) but lots of doubt is still present about IPL.
