    Default Slipper thrown at L.K.Advani

A former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office-bearer Thursday created a sensation by throwing a wooden slipper at senior party leader LK Advani when the latter was going up on stage to address a public meeting in Madhya Pradesh.

The man, identified as Pawas Agarwal, threw a 'khadaun' or slipper made of wood at Advani, saying he was "a fake iron man" and did not deserve to be the BJP's prime ministerial aspirant.

The incident took place in Katni district, 350 km from here.

The slipper missed Advani, but he became the latest victim of a series of 'shoe-throwing' incidents in the country. A former Katni district president of the BJP, Agarwal was taken into custody by police.

He said the BJP should project some other leader as its prime ministerial candidate.

This really shows how much we indians follow the americans. This will now continue in India, and soon the entire world will know about a new trend in India - throwing shoes to protest. And the memories of Bush case will fade slowly.

I guess... Its getting out of hand... People are misusing their freedom of expresiion quite frequently... Political parties are not helping themselves either... Last time a shoe was thrown at Home minister Chidambram, the offender(Jarnail Singh) was offered a ticket from a prominent regional party to contest election... Politics in India is at its lowest!

The biggest security threat now. What if the shoe is poisoned or some dangerous or inflammable chemical is used in later shows.

I wonder if Alqueda and all are this slow in picking up such a serious security lapse.

Now political rivals have found a new weapon.
Just pay someone to throw slippers/shoes at your opponents and then blame it on the media hype.

Yeah, thats what people will do in India. Even a lot of these "obscenity" cases are filed for publicity only.

Yes you are right but that fellow was forgiven by PM Manmohan Singh. He's really a gentleman.

He surely is a gentelman, but forgiving such offences again and again is not at all acceptable from the PM of India. The only reason of the repetition of such incidents is FORGIVING the offenders.

Out of the 3 such recent incidents in India, Only L.K.Advani reacted strong. Offenders must be punished so that this kind of stuff is not repeated again.

Anyone can do it, but to forgive someone shows greatness of that person.

    L. K Adwani is a person who wants to be PM but luck doesn't favour him. He just knows one thing,

"To show yourself better than others blame others and he often tries to convey that ruling party is good for nothing"

He deserves what had happened with him. This is my personal opinion, no offence.

It is not greatness in this case. It is non-ability to react strong against such incidents just for the fear of losing votes. This kind of offence can be forgiven once and was done by Chidambaram. PM is like guardian of the nation. What do you expect a guardian to do!! keep forgiving everytime.!!

How much he knows is beyond the scope of IBF and our discussion.

"To show yourself better than others blame others and he often tries to convey that ruling party is good for nothing"
    Every opposition does that.

Dont take me otherwise, nilact. Just shared my views which happens to be very much different than yours in this case. Lets leave the political viewpoint. But, forgiving the shoe throwing incidents again and again is not at all acceptable.

You will understood later on what i mean by forgiving others even in such case.

Anyways he's gentleman because he never blame anything on any party. You will rarely find in news, because Manmohan Singh doesn't know blame game. And if you find such news then it should be response to someone's comment that is not bearable.

IMO India can do better without both gentleman Mr. Singh or voiceforous Mr. Advani... India needs a statesman... Who know how to tackle critical situations without being over-reactive or non-reactive... Who know how to communicate with people in the country and abroad...
