Yeah
these are not the names of any boys, these are the names of "Manchale"(Romeo type- Bulls and oxen) who roamed all over Ghaziabad...
as an avid animal lover, i am happy that Nagar Nigam of Ghaziabad did this job,for the sake of both "Humanity and Wild...."
Read this:
The governments, both state and Central, have been from time to time expressing concerns over the fate of livestock once they become unproductive, while the police struggled with the cattle smugglers, who would buy the animals at a low price from the locals and then export their meat at a hefty price.
At times, it was also suspected whether the same money was being funded to execute the anti-national activities also and fund such outfits.
The animals, particularly the bulls and oxen, remained a constant cause of concern for the Municipal Corporations in different cities, but the city planners remained helpless over tackling this problem. The innovative idea has been implemented by the commissioner of the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation, Ajay Shankar Pandey, to tame the wild bulls rampaging and roaming the streets and causing a permanent headache for the traffic, passers by and the police.
The numbers of the big beast have been growing because nobody wanted to keep a bull, for them it was a not only useless but also a liability as a large amount was needed to feed them.
In view of rapid replacement of traditional methods in agriculture, with technology-based equipment, there was no need of oxen in farming. Most people either sell off male caves to the butchers to make money or abandon them on the streets, who, after growing into a bull, pose a threat to the traffic and the shops around.
One police sub-inspector Om Pal Singh, aged around 50, was hit to death by one such wild bull a few months back. "There have been a number of road accidents or people got injured by the wayward bulls", informed Ajay Shankar Pandey, who said this made him to think for a bull park to house the roaming bulls in one place.
Spread over more than 15 acres of land, this bull park has been named as Nandi Park. Pandey informed India Today that no city had this kind of a park to accommodate abandoned animals.
At present, there are nearly 200 bulls in Nandi Park which were caught in Ghaziabad and the regions around. In order to ensure relief to the public, the corporation, on the basis of accidents and injuries to the passers by the stray bulls, has identified 'top ten' bulls and formed squad to catch them on priority.
The scheme is becoming so popular that the bulls have been handed over to the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation by Delhi Municipal Corporation as well.
Pandey claimed that Delhi itself, despite being the national capital and people abandoning the animals on the streets to get rid of them, does not have a proper system. In fact, this is not only a problem of Delhi or Ghaziabad, but most of the cities and urban areas are facing such problem. For example, the NCR region has already been facing monkey menace for a long and efforts to catch the monkeys proved futile. The monkey effort failed to succeed because there were no proper funds for them for their feed and their health care. In Lucknow one minor child died after a monkey attacked him. Barring the cosmetic announcements and some superficial measures, the state did nothing and the urban population faces the risk of being a victim of a rampaging bull, stray dog or a wild monkey or abandoned cows.
Same is the case with the blue bull (neel gai), whose herd are destroying crops worth crores of rupees every season, but the agriculture department remains helpless in ridding the farmers of this menace.
Most municipal corporations face financial crunch, lack of manpower and land to tame the wayward animals. "We were aware of this problem from the very first day, so we have worked out economic viability of the Nandi Park bulls. We are deploying the bulls for chaff cutting, tube well work and other purposes to save diesel and electricity", explained the commissioner of the corporation who said the more bulls he has, the more money saving for the corporation. And it is the reason behind the success of this unique bull park.

whats great is that in their new home, the bulls are made to work, so that they can know the meaning of WORK IS GOD.
and also they make Chaara(fodder) for themselves(by cutting the chaara by machine) and also revolve the kolhu(mill) for getting their water for themselves...
Nagar Nigam Mayor Shri Ajay Shanker Pandey is also depositing his enterprising brain into thinking of what new jobs can be sort for these otherwise troublesome bulls and oxens, who were after cows, woman and kids.. and almots bewildered them with their Bhaainess...
Hats off to Shri Ajay Shanker Pandey for making this Indian dream true, i hope other cities learn too and our great livestock maybe helped in their days after retirement...
