Petrol cost shoots up Petrol got costlier by Rs. 4, Diesel by Rs.2
It has begun. The election hangover and the honeymoon is over. Government has decided to elate the cost of petrol and diesel, amongst many more to follow. Murli Devra blaims crude oil price for the hike. Luckily the cost of LPG and kerosene remains intact.
Wait for some more time, LPG and kerosene price will also hike.
This was always on the cards. Aage aage dekho kya hota hai!!
it is one of the most unfortunate things in India.people don't realize that in the end this subsidy they are getting on petroleum products proves much costlier in terms of development.Luckily the cost of LPG and kerosene remains intact.
The hike comes effect from today midnight.

yes lots of economist say that.I was watching news they are saying that.
Also this benefit of subsidy is also getting rich person which they never deserve.Even sometimes they are misusing petrol/diesel only for luxury life-style why govt. will give subsidy for rich person to maintain their luxury life style ?
But another thing apparently it will effect poor people directlybecause they can't able to think long term because they don't have such money (day by day income day by day expanse)
in any case without subsidy things like transport and businesses are sure to be affected and ultimately it will result in increase in price of essential commodities.

substute the prices with those in your town
- A guy on a two wheeler comes up and fills his tank with Petrol priced at Rs. 48 a litre
- In the next lane, a Merc drives up. The owner fills the tank with diesel at Rs. 35 a litre

the merc would hardly run 10 km in that Rs.35
as for me I can't even afford either petrol or diesel. So I keep my tank empty and line up in the pump next door to fill up my cylinder with CNG at Rs.21 a Kg (which would make my car run for 16 km)

seems shud switch over to CNG ....soon....!!!
my town ....ppl went crazy as soon as thy heard this news......
i had to go out n none of my 4 cars had fuel .....so i thght i ll fill it.....obviously didnt expect to wait more than 10-15 min in the queue......there were queues on all the Gas Stations arnd the town.....almost min u had to wait was 1.5 - 2 hours...i was like m i crazy to wait like this....n waste time .....
n moreover it didnt matter ....since by filling up ur gas tank u would save maybe 120-140 bucks out of which u wud spend 60-70 bucks waitin in the queue......! it was a total chaos.....since all around due to this there were traffic jams too

subsidy for petroleum is nothing but a waste of public money for votes.in fact those who think that by stopping subsidy poor will be affected can't be more wrong. it is the rich & middle class which is going to be affected the most(read lesser pizzas,travelling without purpose etc.)while the benefits will be immense.the worst subsidy is on LPG which is a total waste of public money(~Rs.300) & kerosene(the so called fuel of poor which btw is used mostly by us in the form of adulteration in petrol & diesel!!).

lol... the jokes aside, this subsidy is just a way to get votes at election time. already seen it coming for a long time now. its just sad actually.
there were queues everywhere here too... dunno what someone wants to achieve saving 100-150 bucks...damn not even a good pizza :lol: filling bikes is another thing but i hardly saw anyone on a bike at any station. just crazy.

In the real scene, filling a car with 30 l of petrol at Rs. 4 less, saves a mere Rs. 120. As pb said, not even good for a good pizza. Filling bikes saves even less.
But dealers make a lot by shutting down the pump and selling petrol at new prices after having purchased at old price.

yes that is a point, but they will be having leftover reserves anyways.. and there were already so many people there to minimise their profits, with ample free time apparently.
2 hrs for 120 bucks! i'm currently completely free but even i've got better things to do!!!
