The US officials at the airport were doing their job. Its good to see that they don't differentiates people based on status (celebrity or common man). I believe no body above the law. The law is same for everyone. I hope that they follow the same thing here in India also.

If that US offcial is doing his job, then there is no point of crying about that.. and if he(Offcial) did because of SRK last name than that's obviously not good.. I don't know what was the scenario when same happens to former president Mr.Kalam..

As someone mentioned that indian official also should do their duty, But if any celebrity comes they always forgot their duties..

those muddleheads who are crying that Khan was bashed up cause of "My name is Khan" must also think that there are many many instances of americans being holden up @ our airports (and that too for money and this is not lie)
or in Russia many Indians are grand checked at airports, then where are your thoughts of racism???just because Russia is a friendly nation, we cant bash them???

i cannot understand the head and tail of Shahrukh's words.. either he wants to earn some Minority name attached with him like Chocolatey actor Imran Hasmi ???

once Shahrukh was held by a Delhi police cop for being an outsider at his own film's launch...(maybe Dil Aaashna hai - his first films) so where were this me-being-muslim thoughts?? i am concluding this as a major publicity stunt of SRK...

I wonder what took indian media months to bring the issue of Mr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam into the notice of public.While this time, the SRK Episode is in limelight within no time. As Ramesh said, the officer did their duty. There's nothing to cry foul about it. And our Indian Security agencies have to learn a lot from them. Being a celebrity doesn't mean that he is above law. They should learn to respect tge laws of the country they visit. I think this issue should not be given the importance.

US security officials are in a paranoid mode after 9/11. They are doing this to so many people. It is to have occasional sensation otherwise they will just take it for granted.

I agree with Mickey on this. There is no bigger publicity than the most powerful nation making apology to a mere actor

Policemen of everywhere are earning their bread cause of their sincerety to job...

and every policeman will define his duty as much he can...

so no fight with a police wala.. these are a bunch of strong men coded with law.. but sometimes they dont feel bad in keeping a beautiful hand somewhere on your upper part of the body... so beware. no clashes with them...

I am not against rule being applying to all. But this rule is racism much like Hitler rule of Jews for keeping security. Which at first involve alienating & then holocaust.
Asians are being single out for this rule.

I can understand that srk is a non-entity outside india .

I had an experience both at Rome airport where I had machine
guns pointed at me and at US where I was questioned for two hours
but that was during the gulf war and I totally understand and
cooperated. I did not raise a big stink about how I was a big shot
in my village and my ancestors were kings etc.

This is ofcourse only a belief held by a small number of people ,but these people tend to be people who most often come in contact with Asians like immigration officials

I think when Some "big" hollywood stars comes to India we should welcome them the same way as they did and not jumping crazily around them.
