| Senior Member & Mod | kixov,, i already said. its the security system of that country., and we have no right to critisize them, unless we are its citizen.. second point, if in India policemen or security officers roam everywhere except the important places/ do anything except duty, than its not their fault. three: why are Indian personalities crying of being tortured (sorry for Our Ex- Prez that was a tragedy) but how come a film actor blame the security system of a country, while he already knows that he is just earning bucks there?? four: Indians should also wake up and start doing secutiry practises and must learn, and not just say anything bad to the law subjection that Americans work with.. five: Asians are tried out racially, thats true but there are 911 causes behind it.. six: not just asians, there own people are caught in flights/shop lifting cases even if they are 100times more famous than srk/. seven; dont close your eyes. wake up and wake your own system before you critisise some other country.. eight: its not too late not too early, so its better time.. |

Rep Power: 5 | It is racism much like Germans. Called whatever name you would. Point out logic not emotions. Here is list of US Crimes the greatest defender of peace & justice & democracy( Country like Egypt & Pakistan are great democracy) Here is answer to 9/11 by by Emmanuel Ortiz ( An American): A MOMENT OF SILENCE BEFORE I START THIS POEM Before I start this poem, I'd like to ask you to join me In a moment of silence In honour of those who died in the World Trade Center and the Pentagon last September 11th. I would also like to ask you To offer up a moment of silence For all of those who have been harassed, imprisoned, disappeared, tortured, raped, or killed in retaliation for those strikes, For the victims in both Afghanistan and the US And if I could just add one more thing... A full day of silence For the tens of thousands of Palestinians who have died at the hands of US-backed Israeli forces over decades of occupation. Six months of silence for the million and-a-half Iraqi people, mostly children, who have died of malnourishment or starvation as a result of an 11-year US embargo against the country. Before I begin this poem, Two months of silence for the Blacks under Apartheid in South Africa, Where homeland security made them aliens in their own country. Nine months of silence for the dead in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Where death rained down and peeled back every layer of concrete, steel, earth and skin And the survivors went on as if alive. A year of silence for the millions of dead in Vietnam - a people, not a war - for those who know a thing or two about the scent of burning fuel, their relatives' bones buried in it, their babies born of it. A year of silence for the dead in Cambodia and Laos, victims of a secret war .... ssssshhhhh.... Say nothing ... we don't want them to learn that they are dead. Two months of silence for the decades of dead in Colombia, Whose names, like the corpses they once represented, have piled up and slipped off our tongues. Before I begin this poem. An hour of silence for El Salvador ... An afternoon of silence for Nicaragua ... Two days of silence for the Guatemaltecos ... None of whom ever knew a moment of peace in their living years. 45 seconds of silence for the 45 dead at Acteal, Chiapas 25 years of silence for the hundred million Africans who found their graves far deeper in the ocean than any building could poke into the sky. There will be no DNA testing or dental records to identify their remains. And for those who were strung and swung from the heights of sycamore trees in the south, the north, the east, and the west... 100 years of silence... For the hundreds of millions of indigenous peoples from this half of right here, Whose land and lives were stolen, In postcard-perfect plots like Pine Ridge, Wounded Knee, Sand Creek, Fallen Timbers, or the Trail of Tears. Names now reduced to innocuous magnetic poetry on the refrigerator of our consciousness ... So you want a moment of silence? And we are all left speechless Our tongues snatched from our mouths Our eyes stapled shut A moment of silence And the poets have all been laid to rest The drums disintegrating into dust. Before I begin this poem, You want a moment of silence You mourn now as if the world will never be the same And the rest of us hope to hell it won't be. Not like it always has been. Because this is not a 9/11 poem. This is a 9/10 poem, It is a 9/9 poem, A 9/8 poem, A 9/7 poem This is a 1492 poem. This is a poem about what causes poems like this to be written. And if this is a 9/11 poem, then: This is a September 11th poem for Chile, 1971. This is a September 12th poem for Steven Biko in South Africa, 1977. This is a September 13th poem for the brothers at Attica Prison, New York, 1971. This is a September 14th poem for Somalia, 1992. This is a poem for every date that falls to the ground in ashes This is a poem for the 110 stories that were never told The 110 stories that history chose not to write in textbooks The 110 stories that CNN, BBC, The New York Times, and Newsweek ignored. This is a poem for interrupting this program. And still you want a moment of silence for your dead? We could give you lifetimes of empty: The unmarked graves The lost languages The uprooted trees and histories The dead stares on the faces of nameless children Before I start this poem we could be silent forever Or just long enough to hunger, For the dust to bury us And you would still ask us For more of our silence. If you want a moment of silence Then stop the oil pumps Turn off the engines and the televisions Sink the cruise ships Crash the stock markets Unplug the marquee lights, Delete the instant messages, Derail the trains, the light rail transit. If you want a moment of silence, put a brick through the window of Taco Bell, And pay the workers for wages lost. Tear down the liquor stores, The townhouses, the White Houses, the jailhouses, the Penthouses and the Playboys. If you want a moment of silence, Then take it On Super Bowl Sunday, The Fourth of July During Dayton's 13 hour sale Or the next time your white guilt fills the room where my beautiful people have gathered. You want a moment of silence Then take it NOW, Before this poem begins. Here, in the echo of my voice, In the pause between goosesteps of the second hand, In the space between bodies in embrace, Here is your silence. Take it. But take it all... Don't cut in line. Let your silence begin at the beginning of crime. But we, Tonight we will keep right on singing... For our dead. EMMANUEL ORTIZ, 11 Sep 2002 I have right to criticise every government in the world according to Universal Declaration of Human rights G'bye to this thread. Not going to reply. security by bringing it here. -F Quote:
looking people with muslim names. it is not racism. Asian is not a race. Chinese are also Asians, they don't get stopped by profiling. -F please don't bring up the hitler/jews argument here please. The least they could have done for both srk and j4x is apologised . I am not saying that they did what they did wantedly ,just that they dont seem to give a darn after they find out their mistake . [Farce] what was their mistake? they questioned him and after they were satisfied they let him go. Did they beat him? Did they starve or torture him? I don't think an apology is necessary. He was singled out because he was both Muslim and South Asian.Thats what we call Racial profiling [Farce] Not really, South asians are not the target, middle easterners are. what are you suggesting ? That a movie star will carry out a terrorist attack ,so all South Asian Movie stars and politicians should be searched ? [Farce] why won't a movie star carry out a terror attack? so every South Asian including the prime misnister should be searched because he may be carrying a bomb ? [Farce] Not 'every' South Asian is searched. The searches are random and if the name raises a flag in their list. There are more professional ways to do that than arresting every Khan and Mohammed . [Farce] When was the last time a Khan or a Mohammed arrested randomly in an airport? SRK was not arrested. Anti-Asian sentiments are rising in the US ....especialy due to their fear of India and China replacing the US as world power This is ofcourse only a belief held by a small number of people ,but these people tend to be people who most often come in contact with Asians like immigration officials [farce] You are doing a disservice by lumping the racists who are total nutcases with immigration officials that are just doing their jobs. I think the Indian immigration officials are far more harrassing than American ones. -F Last edited by Punch Farce; 08-19-09 at 11:29 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost | ||

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have to put something into prespective 1. What am i talking about ,when i accuse them of racism ? Many Europeans worry that the increasing Indian/South Asian migration into pre-dominantly "White" countries will cause the racial demographies to change drastically i.e white countries will become more South Asian like. Outsourcing is the primary reason for these countries devolopment i.e somehow they think that European and American countries are responsible for the current growth trend in India and China . So such countries dont deserve to grow when countries like US are in recession . The settling of Indians and Chinese (stereotyped in Europe as being poor ,remember slumdog ?)in their lands will make their land more slum-like . These are not some assumption's made by me but have got it from the horse's mouth itself . 2. Is this really so prevelent in Europe ? Not really ,Its beliefs held by a very small minority of people 3. There are always Anti-social elements in society ,so whats the bid fuss about ? They say "An Idol mind is a devil's workshop" .The recent hardships that the countries faced has pushed many more people ,mainly people who have been effected by this directly into accepting these ideologies . 4. Thats a big assumption,Did you take a survey ? Not me . 1. But in the news i read that right after Obama got elected Visits by US citizens to racist sites are at an all time high . They quoted a huge figure that i have forgotten . a 4 or 5 digit number of visits by new members per day . 2. Australian Attacks 3. UK and US tightining laws that were outrageous and squarely aimed at South Asian migrants (the Europeans migrants were left out, thats my problem) One stating that a visiting relative should pay a huge amount of deposit while visting his host . 4. Sweden and some Norweigen countries have scrapped the free college education scheme for non-EU immigrants . This has been around for decades why scrap it now ?. 5. BNP ,an openly racist party in UK has 2 of its members elected to the EU council for the first time . They have promised to deport all non-white legal/illegal immigrants if elected to power in UK . 6. Recently in a congressional hearing in the US about an immigration bill ,i heard a senator say something that would make any Indian angry He said that an "Indian joins a US company works for it for a while , and then goes back to join a rival Indian company" . Not quoting him ofcourse ,but you can make out the hypocrisy from that Quote:

I wonder which other terrorist has a name like Shah Ruk Khan . Like Uncle spoke about the old couple ,its to humilate you and dicourage you from traveling there . The first question they asked him after ascertainning his identity is "For how long do you plan to settle here ?" Betrays their intent imo Quote:
remember the fake bomb plot scare in UK a few months ago .11 innocent pakistani students were arrested and deported .Even though not a shred of evidence appeared Quote:

2. If they do injustice they ll be fair i.e all will be the recepients of this injustice not just a particular section of the people. 3. I have repeatedly got away a lot of times bucking a few minor rules . Like not paying the customs charges for costly stuff i bring home in my opinion they are more naive than unjust Last edited by ShAdOwCoN; 08-19-09 at 09:02 PM. Rep Power: 2 | The immigration officials of USA are very strict. That is the reason why there is no any attack after 9/11. Let us learn from them. We also should not allow anybody to enter in our country without questioning at any airport. Whoever he or she may be. |

| Platinum Member | I do not agree with Farce or Vijay Khairnar or Mickey. Please read carefully my posts. At AMS airport, we were not immigrants - we all were transit passengers. The guys who bully-questioned us were security staff employed by the KLM-NW airlines. They had every right to ask questions about baggage, etc. But they had no right to ask what my business was in America, etc. The old couple they "abused" - it was plain social seggregation -unless they were really suspicious and carrying dangerous goods (a "likely" story). I have been as a transit passenger at many airports - Singapore, London Heathrow, Paris, London Gatwick, Tokyo Narita, Incheon, Taipei, Frankfurt, Brussels, etc. At no other airport other than AMS, they grill you like this. The American immigration does their job properly. I just landed in San Francisco yesterday. I have no complaints against them really speaking. But KLM-NW (and I also heard Delta) are plainly harrasing passengers.

Rep Power: 10 | I think Shahrukh Khan has exaggerated a bit by claiming his detention was because of his Muslim name. It's no secret that American (and few other countries) security at airports adopt double standards against people from Asia. He had all rights to express his emotions. But being an icon, he should have chosen his words carefully (maybe he did choose the words carefully). I guess this whole episode will bring SRK a record-breaking overseas revenue for his upcoming movie My Name Is Khan whose plot is similar to what the media has hyped all these days after the detention. By the way, I've nothing against him as an actor. Though off-late I rarely liked his movies. But he has nothing to prove as an actor. |

Rep Power: 10 | I guess for SRK it is "there is no such thing as bad publicity" maybe he is making this a big issue to promote his film. J4K, so you are in the Bay area now? where in San Jose are you? -F |
